Villa noble historical (1700), 3 km from Caltagirone, a city of Ceramics and 20 minutes from Viila Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina. Rooms, restaurant, swimming pool, horse riding and many other activities. Ideal location to starting for all the tourist destinations of the central-eastern Sicily.
We stayed for 2 nights at Villa Tasca at a quiet time of year and were very satisfied with our stay. Signora Tasca , the owner, was very welcoming and helpful. Our room was very acceptable and comfortable. The restaurant was closed in the evening but a good breakfast was available. The location is rural but only a short drive from Caltagirone.

The Country Hotel Bosco Ciancio is the main building of the ancient manor of Ciancio Barons. Surrounded by 30 acres of chestnut woods, the bailey is located inside the Etna Regional Park. Villa Ciancio is an historical building from the 1800s that has been accurately and passionately restored, a perfect example of the traditional rural architecture of the Etna area. Restaurant, solarium and 15 rooms are available for guests.
Managed by a young and friendly team, this refurbished old manor house in the middle of a dense chestnut forest, oozes charm. Not feasible without your own transport. When we stayed it was absolutely quiet and peaceful especially at night. The house dog was calm and lovely. The rooms on the ground floor around the courtyard are small but seem to have new heating and possibly cooling. They look directly over the valley. On the other side, the top of Etna can be seen between the buildings. Fab breakfast with local jams. Dinner was excellent, but the choice could better reflect the terrior. The wine was too expensive and no vino della casa. There is a well stocked bar and a raised swimming pool with sun loungers etc. It all seemed to run pretty smoothly and it was a memorable stay.

I went to this hotel during a road trip through Sicily with my friends. It is not at all easy to get by car, neither on foot of course. There is a steep ramp right on the route, and it is hard to catch if you don't know that you have to completely turn your car at that very moment. But weird roads are part of Sicily, and you've just got to face with it. It is actualyy a banquet hall more than an hotel or b&b, and you can see the 90's decorations and garden furniture all around. Flower gazebo, white statues, english grass, little fountains that match that "camp" style which is still displayed in some popular italian TV channels. It is totally worth the price !! For 23 euros each we had a giant room with garden view and a spa bath!! It was well furished, with air conitioned, television and towels. It is not adviced if you plan an everyday-beach vacation or if you think about visiting Acireale, because it is far from both, and you cannot dry your clothes because of Etna's falling ashes. But if you are looking for a one night stand on the road, Villa Corallo is perfect, because it is right on the way (we chosed it for this reason). Youcan enjoy a quite good breakfast, but you can't have continental breakfast. I noticed that the host were not so welcoming and polite - they were something like tired of answering to guests. Wifi only works in the hall, and ther is not even service in the rooms. Neverthless, it should be funny to take part to a wedding there. Enjoyable place however.

Spent a week in this beautiful place. The hosts really made us feel at home. The location is surrounded by olive and almond trees. You get the feel of being in the countryside when you're actually a few minutes away from etnaland, etnapolis, IKEA and other mega stores. The sea is barely 30 minutes away by car. The place was clean and well organised. Will definitely visit again !

We stayed in this villa for a week with my wife and I have to say - it was perfect! We felt like we have visited an old friend at his home. Breakfast were really above average with freshly made espresso or even cappuccino if you wanted. Also home grown fruity was available. Home owners were always willing to help and also have us many advices where to go and what to see - they were really willing to help in every case. Thank you very much for an incredible service and experience! We will definitely choose the same place if coming back and would recommend it to everyone.

Beautiful and Luxury 19th Century, countryside Sicilian Manor houses, located in the heart of an active olive oil and wine producing Estate, situated in the vicinity of Taormina. The Villa, which is surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, features world-class amenities including a pool overlooking stunning Mount Etna.Hard to fault for beauty and quality. Fully refurbished in 2009 to an exceptionally high standard, where special attention has been paid to the use of antique and traditional techniques and local materials such as lava stonework from Etna, hand-made terracotta floors and walnut shutters. All decorations, furnishings and fittings are of impeccable taste and quality combining Ralph Lauren and Philip Stark modern designs with antique furniture and paintings. A perfect choice all year round as Heating and Air Conditioning are throughout the bedrooms. Amenities such as, Ping-pong, Satellite TV and Hi-Fi, among others, are meant to blend in a perfect balance the best of Sicilian traditions with the maximum modern comfort.
I loved our stay at Carranco Estate. The decoration is very in keeping with the area, spacious rooms and tastefully done. Local and home grown products were delicious! Definitely recommend this place for a family or group of friends.

Stylish and sustainable, Monaci delle Terre Nere is a luxury hotel and countryside retreat situated on the slopes of Mount Etna, with views over the Mediterranean sea. With an 18th century villa at its heart, the eco-friendly estate has 27 elegantly-designed rooms, suites and villas in renovated farm buildings, scattered among 60 acres of fruit orchards, terraced vineyards and gardens. With two restaurants: Locanda Nerello serving creative cuisine, and a poolside restaurant which is perfect for casual dining, the hotel champions slow food and many of the ingredients served are grown on the farm or are sourced from zero-km producers. Charming Convivium Bar serves imaginative Sicilian cocktails and the extensive grounds and scenic pool offers plenty of natural beauty. The expert hotel team can arrange Sicilian cooking classes with the Chef, Etna wine tastings guided by the head sommelier, horseriding, yoga, private boat trips and even helicopter tours from the estate's own helipad, to explore the volcano and coastline. Monaci delle Terre Nere is a peaceful base to explore Etna, Taormina, Catania and the beautiful eastern coast of Sicily, and is ideal for couples, families and friends.
Here among vineyards above the sea yet in the shadow of Mt Etna, something truly special is happening. The hotel calls it Slow Food and a bio resort. But it is more than that. It is the dedication and “simpatico” of staff to celebrate everything with which Sicily is blessed - fresh ingredients, wines, sun, and multi layered cultural and history. And above all it is pride. Pride in the product they produce making it look effortless. But of course that is the hardest thing of all. Fabio as front office manager sympathetically listens to the guest’s request for the perfect view. Raffaella at the bar creates a cocktail that will make your liver wish it had no limits. And Marco, the sommelier, exults in sharing years of international experience gained in London at the best restaurants . But here he is back home alla Sicilia thrilled to balance family life without surrendering his craft. He can recommend wines that have finally gained the reputation they deserve. But with pure Sicilian charm, he still takes the time to enchant children with corks in which he inscribes their names for a key chain keepsake. The facilities are stunning. Happy hens lay eggs so fresh you will plot how to kidnap a chicken to take home! No need to fight for a pool chair here. They are ample as are the olive trees shading them. Come and let life stand still here while you listen to what attracted millenia of conquerors to this enchanted island. Breathe the gentle night air fragrant with aromatic blossoms. And feast on food that will make you abandon your waist line. I have honestly never enjoyed a property as much as Monaci delle Terre. And I credit not only the bounty of Sicily for this. It is above all the skill, patience and pride of the staff. Nothing is too much. My gratitude is boundless. A l’anno prossimo for our return.

The owner of B&B Umberto is super friendly , the B&B is situated in an excellent part of Catania where you can walk everywhere it's near restaurants, bars and museums. If you catch the bus from the airport get off at Piazza Trento and walk to the B&B , it's a 200 mt walk from the bus stop . I would recommend the B&B. Great value for money.
