Our property has 9 villas, and 2 pools.1 pool for adults, and 1 children's pool. Each villa is made up of 2 floors, and each one features 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a living room, a dining room, and a kitchen. In the master bedroom there is 1 King size bed, the second bedroom has 2 twin size beds, and the third bedroom has 1 queen size bed. The 3 bedrooms are located on the top floor (second floor). The main room with 1 king size bed has its own private bathroom, and the other 2 rooms share a bathroom. The rooms have central air conditioning and the master control is located in the main room. On the ground floor we have the living room, dining room and kitchen. On this floor we have a ceiling fan and a half bath (a toilet).
I received a quote from Bahia Del Sol Villas & Condominiums through Expedia for a group of 30 graduate students. They were 1 of 2 locations to respond to our quote. It is tough to find a large occupancy location for a group of 30 people on only 2 months notice but Bahia del Sol was there to save me (as the trip planner). Communications with Mariela at the office was very personalized. She handled all our booking information, questions, and helped us book restaurants and excursions for our group prior to our stay, which is helpful given challenges in international communication and myself not fully understanding the local businesses in the area. We communicated via WhatsApp and it was very easy to ask questions this way. We stayed in 6 of the 9 villas they have available and all 6 were located together in one part of property. They had patios, terraces in the master bedroom, and some had nice views of the SJDS bay. Air conditioning is available in the rooms which was nice and kept them cool, but the downstairs kitchen and common area can get quite hot even with the ceiling fan. Like many central american hotels, we noticed lots of ants around entryways. The villas are close enough to walk to the city (~20 minutes) but it is through muddy, unpaved streets in a residential area. After a couple of days there we felt safe walking through this area during the daytime but it may seem a little daunting or uncomfortable the first time or alone as you'll be passed by lots of locals in trucks and bikes who may give you a glance as they go about their way. Note that the pedestrian bridge that connects this residential area to the north side of SJDS town is no longer there and the way to the town is blocked by water during high tide. A resident may be ferrying people with a boat (pulling the boat by hand along a rope) across the 50 foot waterway (it's more like crossing a stream). During low tide, you can enter the town by walking over the beach as the stream is subsided. Don't feel like doing this? Arrange for taxi or try for an uber. Lastly, the villas has a security guard at night who watches the property. Reception staff speak good english or will find someone who does. Anything you want or need, they can hook you up. Overall, the villas suited our needs by offering large, safe, air-conditioned accommodation near town at inexpensive price point.

With limited vacation time, the best and easiest way to surf an abundance of quality waves in a short period of time is to utilize an "all-inclusive" style surf resort. We chose Two Brothers based on their reviews, and after spending a week there, we were extremely glad we did. From the moment their guests step out of the airport terminal in Managua after arriving, to the moment they drop you off, they are catering to you. Upon arrival they make sure you feel right at home and help you acclimate quickly. The resort has amazing 360 views of the entire area and is nestled on top of one the best hills in the whole surf zone. It doesn’t matter that you’re not steps from the ocean because you will probably be spending more time in the surf than you can imagine. After having spent considerable time in Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Panama, I can say that while staying with Marsh and Auggie, my wife and I consistently surfed the best waves I've ever surfed in Central America. Without compromise, they are 100% committed to putting their guests in the best waves for any given day. Unless the weather doesn't cooperate, I cannot imagine feeling deprived of surf. The peer pressure to keep surfing is the best peer pressure. Some experiences are difficult to capture in words, but the experience we had surfing that week, was as good as any. The staff at the resort was very friendly and eager to help. The food was plentiful and tasty with three fresh meals prepared each day. We never had the same lunch or dinner meal twice for an entire week. Some fresh seafood for lunch/dinner and local exotic fruit would be a nice addition to the menu for the next time. The communal setting for meals is nice too. It allows guests to get to know each other and talk about the day comparing different experiences. With all this being said, what really makes the resort great are Marsh and Auggie. Until you spend some time at the resort, it’s hard to comprehend the amount of time, energy, and effort that goes into operating such a successful surf resort in such a remote part of the country. They work tirelessly to make sure their guests are taken care of. With constant coordinating, they are masters at what they do. You will feel like you are with the Mayors of Salinas. They are both great guys and fun to be around. They have a lot of local knowledge and are happy to pass it along. We also wanted to thank Landon as well for everything he did to help us out on our trip. We would highly recommend a stay at Two Brothers – thank you! And, although their horse maybe 30+ years old, he has the ability to quickly and magically appear in areas you didn’t think possible.

Luxury all inclusive villas located in forest preserve. Fabulous views of the entire Pacific coast and volcanoes in Lake Nicaragua. Gourmet organic meals, 5-star service, including chauffeur. Infinity pools, swim up bars, horseback-riding, surfing, fishing, canopy tours, etc. Fully functioning organic farm with wood shop, nursery, cows, goats, chickens, etc. Overall the most incredible experience of culture, nature, activity, farm life and pleasure in the most beautiful setting with the most accommodating staff anywhere on the planet.
This "eco-farm" offered beautiful villas that accommodated our extended family wonderfully. Our stay included great meals prepared by the chef and cooking team and a level of personal service provided by the property manager (Natalie) above any that we have experienced in high end resorts. The piece that made this a really special vacation was the fact that we were in the middle of an eco-farm that allowed the children (and adults) to participate in all manner of farm activities, see the lush tropical habitat close up and to really appreciate the beauty of Nicaragua.

Perched atop a country hill, near the village of San Juan del Sur, Las Mananitas must surely be the tiniest resort in all of Nicaragua! Two cozy cottages, a nicely designed and relaxing pool, and the owners’ house. Set alongside a dead-end country road that opens up on two magnificent beaches, Las Mananitas offers unequalled tranquility. Nestled among trees, each cabin is equipped with a deck that provides a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean and the valley.
Waking from my first night's sleep, I walked out onto the deck where a family of monkeys was nibbling on ripe fruit in the trees close by. The view from the deck is the same view I enjoyed from my bed - the Pacific Ocean but a few km distant. Taking my time, strolling up the pathway toward the main house, past the pool, there is the constant sound of the wind in the trees and tall bamboo and of the many birds. Rides to the nearby beaches are available, but the walk wasn't too bad, and the beaches are quite a reward for the effort, ranging from baby-class to world-class surf. Returning to Las Mañanitas at the end of the day, I was back in the peaceful woods, feeling the fresh breeze at the top of the ridge barely 2 km from the Pacific.

Luc, was undoubtedly genuine, in every word that could come to your mind when u think of words to describe an awesome vacation, He served us like we were the king and queen of the place, as we were he he he,, we showed up on the off season and it was not busy as we did not know end of March is when high season ends. anyway I could go on for hours here so to sum it up short, -took us out 3 times on his side by side to look at numerous property's inside and out, he arranged a taxi to pick my brother up at the airport as I did not want to drive my rental car in the dark, (dangerous) and got us a wicked deal, not saying how much it was, oh and OMG, his wife's pizza is to die for, and I dont know who it was but we had fresh towels and water sitting out side our door a few times and we only stayed 1 nite (would have stayed longer but this was a trip to fiqure out where to buy property in Nicaragua and 8 day was not enough. I think it was luc's wife and Edward the nico' that works at the bar and doing other things around the resort and Edward kept us entertain while we were drinking at the bar, bringing us our breakfast etc. a must place to go if you havent been,we will definitely have to go back.

This review is only about the restaurant & the finca itself. We have been here several times to take a walk with our dog and stayed for lunch. As I wrote in my review in2013, it is great to come to this area when it is hot in the city because the finca is at a higher elevation making it several degrees cooler than the city. We have always enjoyed the lunch and the excellent service here. It is also nice to be able to bring our dog here. An additional benefit is to be able to get a good 45 minutes walk. There are two paths and one is a bit hilly allowing a good workout before lunch. We have never used the place for accommodation, so we do not know what it is like. It takes only 15 minutes for us to get here from where we stay, so this is a good weekend lunch spot for us. So glad it is there!

This "Oasis" is a fantastic vacation spot! The main house is roomy and cozy with 4BRs, 2 baths, 2 kitchens, LR, DR and 2 giant verandas overlooking the valley and the ocean. The sunsets are nothing short of spectacular! The pool is magnificent with a 20 meter lap lane that is wide enough for 2 swimmers to swim side by side. The pool house offers a fifth bedroom where you can step out of bed and jump in the pool. The Rancho/BBQ area is beautiful with 2 big, lazy hammocks for relaxing. The house is located just outside of San Juan del Sur, 5 minutes by car and 15 minutes on foot into town. The enclave of 5 homes with a gated guard house is quiet and restful. There is a caretaker by day and security guard at night. There are monkeys in the trees and a wide variey of birds to watch. The rates are incredibly reasonable. Fritz, the property manager, lives right next door to the house and is a wealth of knowledge and extremely helpful. The town is alive with a great party atmosphere and delicious and very reasonable ocean front restaurants and bars. You can gorge yourself on seafood, steaks and beer for $10-$15. The closest surfing beach, Playa Maderas is 10 minutes by car. There is an open air restaurant right on the beach with plenty of non-surfers sunbathing on the beach. A short walk to the north takes you to Bahia Majaguel, a back-packers resort with a huge thatch roof party area. There is access to boat trips which take you to less crowded, beautiful surf breaks and ample fishing. You can rent boards in town. Surf lessons are available at Playa Maderas. The house comes with a pass for the Playa Iguana Golf Resort located a little more than an hour north. The golf course (9 holes) is gorgeous, green fees are $10. The second time around, to complete your 18 holes is just as spectacular as the first. There are 2 awesome surf breaks, relatively empty right on the beach next to the golf course. Half of our party surfed while the other half golfed. We met in the evening after fishing and golfing, ate dinner and watched Monday Night Football in the Club House Restaurant. We will definately be back!!!!!!!!!!!! Sincerely, -Peggy Evans

I stayed here last week for 2 nights and now I regret not staying longer. The view from the moment you walk into the house is amazing. I was skeptical about the "private beach" but it's true!!! We probably saw only one more person the whole time we were there. I would stay here again in a heart beat!! The place was very clean with beautiful decorated rooms and the location was great! I want to go back already. :)

The beautiful historic colonial main house has two pool-side guest rooms and a second story master suite with a balcony overlooking the pool. The pool is surrounded by a large open-air kitchen, dining and entertainment area with cable TV, radio/CD player and ceiling fans. Local artists and artisans work is displayed throughout the house. Wireless internet throughout.
Casa Chandler is only a few steps from Parque Central in Granada, so everyplace worth going is walkable. The rooms and bathrooms are fine. Ample hot water. The simming pool is a real plus.

Always a bit of a leap of faith when booking a house online but Villas Playa Maderas was a big win! This place is unbelievable and not to be missed. From the beautiful houses to the infinity pool and the views from both it made for an unforgettable week. Ricardo and his staff were very accommodating and professional. We felt well looked after the whole time. Fantastic vacation!
