An enigmatic treasure trove of almost unimaginable archaeological and cultural riches, it's hard not to think of Egypt without imagining the Sphinx, the pyramids at Giza, Luxor, the Valley of the Kings and the Nile. As well as being the world's largest open-air museum, Egypt also offers a slew of luxurious Red Sea resorts, many within reach of spectacular snorkeling, diving and windsurfing. Whether you see it by riverboat, from camelback or from just above the coral, Egypt's sights are unforgettable.

I think if I'd been a solo girl traveller I may have been a BIT concerned about the location. But Dahab is pretty safe... and the upper flat (suitable for solo traveller or couple) is well equipped and felt nice (fire escape like stairs up to the top). There IS noise from the mosques but it eventually fades into the background. 15 minutes walk to the main strip... and I booked through dahab.net. Wireless wasn't working well when I was there but that's small side issue.

This is an excellent property. My apartment on the first floor was very large and very clean. The apartment offered a large living room with air conditioning, a dining table, a large comfortable couch, and TV. There is a full kitchen with cookware. There were ceiling fans and new air conditioning units to keep the place cool. The bedroom was also large and offered a lot of storage space. The bathroom was clean and offered great water pressure. The Wifi worked very well. Best of all, the host is extremely kind and helpful. He offered to help me in anything I needed. He even stayed awake until 1:00 in the morning to sort out some issues I had with the taxi upon departure. The apartment is located in a very quiet area of the Nile West Bank. About a 5-minute walk away is a grocery store. About a 15-minute walk away is the village, where one can find many restaurants, groceries, banks, transportation, etc. I highly recommend staying here, you will definitely not be disappointed.

Siwa Villa, traditionally built mud house completely restored by local English family to boutique hotel standards. Accommodates safari groups and travellers who want 'the Siwan experience' and not just another hotel room. Quiet and very private behind the old Shali fort, yet five minutes from the Market Sq. Two full time Siwan Housekeepers for all your cooking, cleaning, local excursion/safari needs. Steam Room, roof terrace, fireplaces, palm tree beds, resident donkey and carriage.
The only reason that I would return in Egypt, would be definitely the people and of course the Siwa village which is a place that giving us a lot of lessons of how happy we must be with whatever we have, without being miserable. The place is great and definitely a must for the country. It is difficult to reach it,but the journey till there and what you will see will be fair enough.

The hotel Fata Morgana is at the Dakrur`s mountain (4km from oasis centre) and offers accommodation for guests. The villa consists in the ground-floor five bedrooms, a large living room, two bathrooms with showers, it has also a huge veranda with a passage. The second-floor consists of down cupola cover seven bedrooms with inclusive toilets. Shower, fireplaces and balcony. There is also a living room with a fountain and a fireplace. The hotel complex has an Arabic restaurant for ca. 30 persons and a pool. The hotel complex is in a big garden with fruits and olives. In these place are also the possibility to sleep in small traditional berber houses. We also offers personally guided tours out to the Siwa oasis.
Stayed 4 nights and had great time in the Oasis. Local food served in the hotel is really good (grilled goat and lamb). The beds are very uncomfortable specially if you are used to soft mattresses. The water is naturally hot from a spring but that only makes it mildly hot. The pool is not very clean but usable.

We stayed just two night’s at Maghrabi’s guest house but we wished we had stayed longer. It was the highlight of our visit to Egypt and the perfect, relaxing antidote to the chaos of Cairo. The guest house is remote; check the map, plan ahead and call in advance; they will arrange everything for your arrival either by taxi from the airport or by boat from Aswan. Maghrabi’s brothers are wonderful people and they made our stay extremely special. Unfortunately it was Ramadan when we stayed so we didn’t get to try their food, but it looked and sounded as though it would have been wonderful. Instead they gave us a great recommendation for dinner in Aswan and took us to / collected us from Aswan town by boat. They also arranged our onward travel to Luxor. The rooms are just what you need; air conditioned, comfortable beds, traditional style, and hot water in the shower. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Nile was breathtaking and delicious too! The best part of our stay was the most unexpected. We had a bit of time in the morning so asked for a recommendation for a trip. They arranged a boat ride on the Nile in their boat, stopping at a Nubian village to drink tea. Such a peaceful beautiful couple of hours, watching birds (we even saw a crocodile) and drinking in the calm and serenity as we ambled along on the cool water. My son got to captain the boat which made him so happy and by the end we were relaxed and recharged, ready for more adventure. Maghrabi’s brothers are doing a wonderful job, keeping his legacy alive and I am sure he would be proud of their achievements. Adelma! Thank you for making our stay with you so special, we hope to return!

Diving Station - Reef Villa is a lovely Guest House in Marsa Alam, Red Sea, Egypt, located on the beach just in front one of the most known diving site of South E, Shab Marsa Alam. It is a valid alterntive to whom doesn't want to stay in the "classic" Holiday Village, but still wants to feel on holiday, served and cared. Our custumer may appriciate the exclusively insite Diving Center which allows divers and snorkelers to discover the wonders of the world wilde known Red Sea. Added plus is that they may choose, daily with the staff the right place accordingly to your needs and wants.
We had a one night booking after a last minute change of plans. After back packing from town to town in Egypt, Marsa Alam looked quite empty, however we found the guest house quite comfortable and welcoming with other people to talk to. Overall the place is clean, tidy, and has one terrace and one living room in which the guests can hang around. I would advise people used to high standing hotels to avoid this place, which might be outside of their expetections, however for all other travelers : this is simple and welcoming. The owner who goes by the name of Sam has been available, and will manage to spare some time to help you with your stay. Very good English speaker. The rest of the staff is discreet and helpful. Prices are fair, on our side we didn't have to negotiate to have what we consider a fair price, which is quite resting after central Egypt. Cheers Samuel
