This place is a triumph of understated traditional Tuscan Cuisine. The highlights of the evening was the hand rolled Pici with just a hint of anchovy, balanced beautifully with lemon zest. And then there was the Gnocci with sage butter, this dish was a house special for the night... this Gnocci was beautifully light clouds of joy and the sauce was something to remember, so simple, so well balanced and so good. Service was attentive, fast and unpretentious with a flair to support local wine that complemented our dishes well and proved an elegant pairing - all in all a wonderful experience. Put this in your list of restaurants to visit in Tuscany!

Felice and his exquisite cuisine is the true symbol of La Gustea. He combines the art of simple flavors and the wisdom of tradition. But then he adds a little dash of curiosity, coupled with an inventive flair for Tuscan aromatics, and much more! He bring
Our first time at this restaurant but we shall definitely return. We had two courses. Highly recommend the meats and cheese starter, so tasty. Raviolini and chicken mains were delicious and the children's pizzas were huge but loved by both.Service was fast, friendly and we couldn't fault it. Although not directly in the centre of Sarteano it is only a few minutes walk, which we enjoyed at the end of the evening. This restaurant is great value. It would work easily as well for couples and families.A special thanks for having wanted to write this beautiful review so important for us. We are still waiting for you during your vacation in our country for other gastronomic and family experiences. GreetingsNadia & Felice

What a great find! The best meal weâve had in Italy since arriving 10 days ago. Great food, great atmosphere, and the service and attention to details were impeccable. Wife had pasta and have slice steak with rosemary. We are going back again for lunch.

Thankfully the food was the highlight of this family run restaurant. The choice was limted as you would expect of this style of restaurant but there was something for everyone, the home made pasta (Pici) was a highlight as were the meat dishes. Didn't look at the wine list as the house red and white wine were very good and excellent value. We went back two days later as it was good food and great value.

My husband and me went to this restaurant this evening. When we arrived we were the only customers sitting outside, the outside staff were sitting chatting. We were told to take a table. A young waitress gave us the menu and walked away. After about 5 minutes we were approached by a waiter who took our drinks order, I ordered a bottle of water and my husband ordered beer. Both drinks arrived but I had to request a drinking glass. The waiter took our food order, I was told that I couldn't have a 'big salad' as a starter size salad. I was offered a side salad as a starter. My husband ordered a cheese and ham starter. Both starters arrived a short time later. The cheese and ham was fine, however my salad had a large piece of lettuce stalk in it. We both ordered a pizza each as the main course. My husbands pizza was given to him after a reasonable time, my pizza didn't arrive. I overhead the staff discussing the missing pizza, appearently it had still not been prepared or cooked. I was told that it would be ready shortly, While I was waiting my husband had time to eat 3/4 of his pizza. We were not offered any recompense for this error. I will not be going back there.

Cloister of the XV century . with the restaurant in the lodge with menus that change weekly and a wide selection of local wines also to the chalice ; the courtyard is home to the Longe Bar open in the summer time with cocktails and a wide selection of loc
On our first night of our Tuscany adventure we wanted something a little special and the owner of our Villa recommended Chiostro Cennini - it did not disappoint! On arriving we were warmly greeted by Lucia and guided through the large wooden doors of the ancient town into a beautiful rustic courtyard filled with music and laughter. The first port of call, to meet her mother and father who has prepared snacks for all the dinner guests - it was wonderful! and set the tone for the rest of the evening. The food was excellent, the local wine was lovely and but it was the atmosphere that just grabbed you and pulled you in - it was a lovely, warm, welcoming, relaxing and oh so enjoyable. My only regret is that we did not get to return - a week in Sarteano is just not long enough!

Spirito di...Vino is a cozy little restaurant offering good quality dishes typical of the area: pici with meat sauce, roasted and braised meat dishes, fresh vegetables and homemade desserts. Everything we chose was very good and the prices seemed extremely reasonable. Highly recommended !

Once again, delicious food prepared by Chef Angela and served by her husband Giuliano. Intimate, rustic and friendly atmosphere. (And no TV!!! That in itself deserves a 5* plus!) I photographed only the desert - couldnât resist as it looks so pleasing on the eye as well as on the palette. ( Panna cotta with meringue and frutti di bosco).
