Traditional Tuscan and Lunigiana cooking with Podenzana panigacci, lasagne bastarde, homemade meat ravioli, homemade tagliatelle with wild mushrooms, game, grilled beef and homemade desserts.
Definitely there is something called childhood acquired taste. And this restaurant is all about that... Just people who have been exposed to panigacci as a child can think it worths the trip. The service was just fine. The place quite cozy and familiar. But the food can be summarized as a kind of all-you-can-eat panigacci. The primo piatto consisted in three panigacci slightly rare with pesto, cheese and tomato sauce. the secondo was more panigacci, this time cruncher, accompanied with 2 kinds of cheese and 5 kinds of local ham. As desert, more panigacci with nutella. it is not my cup of tea.

Make sure to go here on an empty stomach so as to leave room for the succession of plates - starting with many appetizers and proceeding through the pasta dish, the meat dish and finally the dessert! After that, we were "stonkered" as we Kiwis like to say!The food quality is good, but overwhelming in its amount. The main reason to go here is for the great beauty of the surroundings and to enjoy true and genuine Italian hospitality, in the company of, mostly, Italians - a good recommendation in itself.

It's a quaint little place indeed, down an alley and an archway, with a couple rooms and many tables, busy to a surprising degree, with hindsight at least. The outside view of the river is nice, if only available when it's warm enough to eat outside.Walls are all covered with flattering remarks from travelers. They must have had better food, or goodwill. Our lunch was beyond homely, down to plain dull. One acceptable first course, typical "testaroli" pasta from the region, was OK but in a small serving. The other, vegetable soup, felt like straight out of a freezer, or a hospital canteen. One second course was stuffed cabbage leaves, nicely bitter if a bit greasy, with an egg and vegetable filling. Ok, again, while the other, roasted veal with mushrooms, was as dull as it gets.We would have been happy if this were a set working lunch menu. In Milan, where we come from, this would cost you 12-15 Euro per person. Here, with two 3/4 liter bottles of water, we paid 18 each. Had they shown a menu with prices in advance, we would have paid and left after the first course, just like our smarter German neighbours did.Service is nice, mind you, friendly and appropriate if informal, and fast. Would be perfect if they either showed prices, or charged you much less.

A busy place and for good reason. We had an excellent dinner here. My wife ordred a primo piatto of Tagliatelle with funghi. I ordered the local specialty Testaroli with funghi. Both were outstanding! For a secondo piatto we split an order of coniglio (stewed rabbit). With a half litre of rosso and acqua frizzante, only 47 euro. The people here were very friendly and treat you like a local. Service was great and the atmosphere was rustic romantic. The cook took the time to wave to us as we left. Pontremoli is such a nice village.

We live in Pontremoli and had wanted to try La Luna for some time having read good reviews, so had booked a table for last night. We duly arrived, eventually were shown to our table by a charmless waitress, where we sat, and sat, and sat. No one offered us anything at all, not a drink no menus, nothing, in spite of staff hurrying backwards and forwards, we could catch no-oneâs attention. We were ignored for roughly 20 minutes, as were one other couple opposite us, until eventually the lady who had shown us to our table came and asked us whether we wanted still or sparkling water. We said that we would like to order some wine and asked for menus. We were told in no uncertain terms that wine could only be ordered after we had ordered food, so water and menus were then both brought. At this point we were already on the verge of walking out having waited so long and with such grumpy service, but we studied the menus, and waited, and waited some more, until after at least another 10 minutes had passed and still no-one had taken our order, we overpaid for the water leaving money on the table and left. A thoroughly awful experience!! Happily we walked around the corner to another little restaurant slightly off the beaten track, behind the old theatre in the Piazza S. Christina. This is the Osteria Caveau del Teatro Relais, where we had a truly excellent meal in a charming old building, served by a a delightful owner who more than made up for the previous unpleasant experience. We will not be returning to La Luna.

Once at Locanda Il Rustichello, customers can recover their time, enjoying our homemade dishes and the charming green area around the locanda. The atmosphere takes customers back in time: in an enchanted world, full of traditions and magic. At Locanda Il

We were late for lunch. We arrived at 14:15! Our friend who was there before us, spoke to the owner who accepted to keep the restaurant open just for the three of us!It was an incredible experience. Sig. Melchiore, the owner of this beautiful, old fashioned restaurant, dismissed all his staff anegan, converted himself into a cook! An elegant cook! He carefully asked what we were eating (difficult since I am eating vegan, my friend Kosher) and 30 minutes later he came out of the kitchen with ultra tasty Italian food. The three of us had always a nice chat in between a three-course meal with Melchiore. 2.5 hours flew by and we have not even noticed. This was such a unique experience that if you have a car in 5 Terre region/Tuscany/La Spezia, coming to this place will definitely make your trip to Tuscany even more memorable.

The dining area is the perfect venue for a memorable meal. Each dish, from antipasti to selected primi piatti to secondi piatti to dolci were creative, amazing culinary feats. Go with plenty of friends, so you can sample more of the offerings! The Owner and waitstaff were very gracious. With such a memorable experience, I hope some day to return and try other selections from the menu.

This highly recommended restaurant, off the beaten track, was a disappointment. We ordered the fresh pasta with black truffles and the baby leg of lamb. The truffles were sliced way too thick and they were hard and woody. This dish completely lacked any truffle flavor. The lamb was tender and fell off the bone. It is served bare and you need to order any vegetable, ala carte. Very strange for the prices they charge.Overall, it is not a restaurant i would go out if my way to eat at.Salve.ci dispiace enormemente che non abbiate apprezzato i nostri tagliolini al tartufo.(pensate che vengono a mangiarli da tutto il mondo)e che dire dell'agnello?
