Find out what Turkish restaurants to try in Urgup. The Cappadocia region's most upscale and contemporary tourist city, Urgup has a number of lovely hotels, many built in and around centuries-old cave dwellings. The city and its surrounding area are known for their mysterious fairy chimneys, early Christian rock churches and fine vineyards. A mix of ancient and modern, Urgup is a center for traditional handmade carpets, but also has a lively nightlife. Hot air ballooning is very popular, and a fantastic way to see the area's beauty from above.

Traditional And Modern Turkish Cusine
Two friends and I sat down at this restaurant and were completely ignored by the staff.. eventually someone took our order but they didnât bring silverware or napkins until I called somebody over, it was like this with everything. I have never been treated so rudely anywhere else here in Turkey..?

We had driven all the way from Goreme to Mustafapasa and were determined to find this restaurant after having gone through the reviews. The dining room is perched above the family home.Bread with 4 different spices and olive oil started off our meal. The yogurt mint soup with cracked wheat was fabulous while the stuffed eggplant made by the owner's mother was the dish of the day. Cheese rolls and Manti (ravioli in yogurt) added to an excellent lunch. The friendly and hospitable owner served us himself and offered bhaklava made by his mother at the end of the feast.

We had Iskender kebab and Sac tava, which came with complimentary salad and plentiful of bread. Iskender kebab was awesome, really wonderful. Sac Tava on the other hand was really poor. It was a very small portion of tough meat, tasted like something you could knock up on a camping hob.Tried the sutlac as it looked interesting, that was nice. They do not serve alcohol, only soft drinks. The service was very good, attentive. The bill came out higher than expected, considering no alcohol and wanted to charge us a surcharge for using a foreign credit card, which I have never ever encountered in Turkey before...

Only one local wine available by the glass (and a basic one at that), basic tasteless bread, and limited, gastronomic-like portions. But nice food (although beef could have been more tender) one click above regular Turkish restaurants, good service and great view.

After reading the reviews on trip advisor I decided to go check out this place for myself. Simple. Unassuming. Quaint family run restaurant specializing in local cuisine. I orders the meat dish in a clay pot. And was not disappointed. A good satisfying meal. A little more expensive than I expected it to be, however considering that Urgup is a tourist town, the price wasnât outlandish. I would recommend this eating spot.

What an amazing serene and tranquil place, set in a sleepy village with views of the surrounding cappadocian hills. Grape vines hang from the ceiling.Set menu cooked by the waiters mother, delicious honest and simple food, with the tastiest chilli pickle and organic dessert. Definitely worth the drive out from the tourist towns.

Reheated remains of food and apathetic waiters. I can not understand remarks and review here. We had terrible experience.

A short walk from our hotel we gave this place a go as it had a good vibe as we walked past the night before. The service was excellent, we were well looked after and the staff were really friendly and chatted to us a few times during the meal. In what appears to be Turkish style as the bread and dips were brought out, a few seconds later our starter arrived. Followed by the main shortly after. Not a problem with the style of food we ordered as it all went together (could have been annoying if you had a bigger starter to eat).Highly recommend the sausage, which was cut like a large salami slice and was stuffed chilli peppers and nuts. All the food was really good.Thank you so much for your beautiful comments and your suggestions. We hope you will come again to Cappadocia and come to our restaurant. Hope to see you again :)
