MAKE IT YOUR FIRST STOP! While in the Huntsville/Madison area visit one of area Visitor Centers for information, discount attraction, sports, arts & entertainment coupons.
We e mailed and called Tourism Alabama but they never sent us anything. Then the state visitor center at the Tenessee/Alabama border was baricaded/closed!! We just about gave up on Alabama. Make sure you go to the Huntsville Visitor Information Center on Church Street. If you are lucky you will be met by Yvonne or Brenda. These ladies are a fountain of information about not just the Huntville area but also other parts of Alabama.we consider ourselves fortunate to have made their aquantance.

The Von Braun Center is a multipurpose facility located in downtown Huntsville, Alabama. It offers multiple venues for presenting cultural, educational, entertainment, sporting and social events. With over 170,000 sqft of flexible meeting space The VBC is able to accommodate events of all sizes.
This is a top-drawer arena for sports. We visited for a minor-league hockey game. The place is clean, good family atmosphere, comfortable seats and good sight-lines. Tickets were reasonable and the place was 3/4s full on a Sunday afternoon. One of the best venues in the Southern Professional Hockey League.

The Athens-Limestone Visitors Center is situated on the corner of Big Spring Memorial Park in a historic building that first served Athens as its Utility Building. The building has been fully restored with architectural features of the early 1900's when the building was first erected to pump water from the natural spring in the park to downtown Athens. Among the collection of information we offer to visitors to our community, you will find trail brochures, event listings and maps not only for Limestone County but also a number of attractions and cities in North Alabama. Our Guest Service Volunteers will answer your questions about the community or will take the steps to get you the information before you leave our visitor's center. We feature rotating displays of local art work, local goods, and souvenirs in our facility as well. Our postcards are very popular with travelers looking to send a piece of Athens-Limestone AL home to family and friends. Athens Visitors Center is easily accessed from Beaty Street by step or ramp.

This is a very good library, especially is you have a family. Great play area/computer/book section for kids. Their play area has things to build and stuffed animals as well. Also, they have board games you can check out which is nice(but their options need to be updated). Fairly large adult section as well and there is also a room where you can buy old books, dvds, etc. Very nice library that includes a self check out area.
