Tradition collides with pop culture in Tokyo, where you can reverently wander ancient temples before rocking out at a karaoke bar. Wake up before the sun to catch the lively fish auction at the Tsukiji Market, then refresh with a walk beneath the cherry blossom trees that line the Sumida River. Spend some time in the beautiful East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, then brush up on your Japanese history at the Edo-Tokyo Museum. Don’t forget to eat as much sushi, udon noodles, and wagashi (Japanese sweets) as your belly can handle.

The Tokyo metro is fantastic and the best way to move around the city. Buy your ticket at your hotel so you can get the discounted all day ticket. The stations are named but use the numbers, it makes it super easy to tell which train to get on and which stop to hop off at. I also highly recommend using google maps as it expertly guides you for which train, which direction, and even which car is best based on where you are going after you leave the metro. It does get crowded at times but it’s usually more than manageable/comfortable.

The experience of travelling on the Shinkansen trains is incredible, sleek, smooth ride and very fast, efficient and on time! Added bonus of seeing majestic Mount Fuji en-route made it extra special. Japan Rail Pass enables unlimited usage of the JR train network including most of the Shinkansen "Bullet Trains" this is an absolute essential to buy for anyone travelling to Japan.

Japan's premier taxi, limousine and airport transfer service. We offer many exclusive features including multi-lingual drivers, airport "Meet Service", and a range of luxury vehicles for all of your transportation needs.
I have used MK in the past - they are really great. Almost the same price as a taxi from NRT into the city, but in a luxury car. Driver was super kind - helped us to the desk to pick up wi-fi, safe yet swift drive, made sure we got into our house rental. Great to have this when you step off of long flight and just want a relaxing ride into the Tokyo. Two large suitcases and a few carry-on bags plus two 6 foot people fit very comfortably into their "luxury level" car. I wouldn't even consider another car service. Reservation was easy, meeting at airport was easy, payment was easy.

Riding this street car from beginning of end is a great way to while away a day (or half-day) in parts of Tokyo that few tourists see. Liking train travel or unique modes of transport helps. So if you like the Enoden (Enoshima Electric Railway) in Kamakura, you will love this. Get a day pass and jump on and off at points that look interesting along the way. There's backstreets and laneways to explore, Sugamo (the grandma's Harajuku), and Minowabashi shopping mall, along with a million other places. Discover unique sweet shops and eateries. You will find online guides which tell you what to look out for at each stop or if you like the look of somewhere, just get off and explore and then jump back on. We made the mistake of using our Suica card and spent quite a bit of money jumping on and off, so get the day pass.

Its a good train if you need to get to Hakone. Japan known for its train system, is really one of the best when it comes to connectivity and reducing travel time. suggest getting the Hakone day pass as it covers many other modes of transport within hakone as well.

Made a reservation with our hotel lobby, and it was super easy, super convenient. The buses are all very nice, new, spacious. We took a taxi when we arrived - for about $80 US from Haneda Airport to Tokyo, and this bus was actually more comfortable and cost half the price ($1000 yen per person). I’d recommend this bus over a taxi.
