Living up to its billing as “The Natural State”, the state is a nature wonderland with three national forests, nearly 9,000 miles of pristine streams and rivers, awe-inspiring settings in the Ozark and Quachita mountains and sparkling lakes.
The menu of vacation experiences is an exciting one. For great golf, spas, horse racing and the Hot Springs National Park, Hot Springs is the place to go. Outdoor enthusiasts love the Ozark Mountains where activities like canoeing, rafting, kayaking, fishing, hiking and rock climbing are popular. The mountain village of Eureka Springs, with its streets lined with Victorian homes, is brimming with boutiques, antique shops and art galleries. Wine enthusiasts love the Arkansas Wine Country, encompassing the towns of Paris, Ozark and Altus, where German style wines are produced. From its ancient mountains to the Delta flatlands leveled by the Mississippi River, the state has a diverse topography with numerous scenic drives. Try the Pig Trail, Ozark Highlands and Sylamore scenic byways in the Ozark National Forest designated by the U.S. Forest Service. Golfers love the state because greens fees are extremely affordable for great courses. A few excellent public access courses are Sage Meadows in Jonesboro, Stonebridge Meadows in Fayetteville and the Mountain Ranch Course in Fairfield Bay.

Did you know? The METRO Streetcar will continue to be fare-FREE for all of 2020? The streetcar is a fun and FREE way to take in the downtown sights of central Arkansas' "twin cities," and get to downtown destinations and events without parking hassles. The METRO Streetcar operates on two routes throughout the Little Rock and North Little Rock downtown areas seven days a week, except for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. The easiest way to remember the different routes is to remember blue for water: The Blue Line is the route that operates throughout Little Rock and crosses the Arkansas River (the water) to North Little Rock. The Green Line stays in Little Rock. The Green Line does not operate on Sundays, and service to the popular Clinton Presidential Center and Heifer International stop ends every day around 5:35 p.m.
This is a fun way to enjoy the history of Little Rock. Driver takes you on a tour ..it is free...of downtown. Recommends sights, restaurants and nightclubs....quite a funny guy too!

What a great way to spend an afternoon for only $6 a person! The trolleys were quaint and clean and the depot was so cute if you like old-time interiors. At the depot there was a scavenger hunt available, and we as adults had a fabulous time playing! Eric, Jim, DB, Doug and Linda were very accommodating and personable all afternoon. They definitely made the day much more fun. We went on each of the different routes, which brought us to the Thorncrown Chapel, the Christ of the Ozarks as well as through the historical and shopping districts. It was nice to let the experienced drivers take us around town, as we are from the flat Midwest and the winding roads were also quite steep. The trolley is definitely the best way to get around Eureka Springs!
