Our guide Daryll was knowledgeable and entertaining and the itinerary for the "Our Grandfathers Story" was well mapped. We discovered old school eating houses (i.e. restaurants) in Chinatown, learned about the cultural history of Singapore, and went for a Chinese tea tasting. I recommend the tour.

Built in the late 1930s, The Battlebox is a former WWII British underground command centre inside Fort Canning Hill at the heart of Singapore City. The British army defended Malaya and Singapore from this legendary hideout in World War II. It was also here that the British made the decision to surrender Singapore to the invading Japanese on 15 February 1942. Today, the Battlebox is a museum that unveils the true causes behind “the worst disaster and largest capitulation in British history”. This tour tells two stories – the fall of Malaya and Singapore in WWII, and how an underground command centre functioned during World War II. Hear both from your professional English speaking guide as he/she leads you through the place that made history during the war.
Inclusions: 1 admission ticket to The Battlebox, Professional English-speaking tour guide
Exclusions: Hotel pick up and drop off, Meals and beverages

The puzzle hunt which we did around Chinatown was one of the most engaging and unique activities that I have done in recent times. The puzzles, which were very well-designed, was a great way for us to bond and work together. In doing so, we also made our way down to many of the different attractions around Chinatown and got to learn more about them! It was also great that everyone from Ransack was incredibly friendly and helpful all the way through as well :)

Our team had such a great time here, thanks to the amazing 2 ladies/hosts, Teresa and Cindy. They were incredibly patient, and their energy infectious. Given that office life hasn’t exactly been the same now that our team has been split into alternate weeks, we hardly have a chance to work or run into each other anymore. And laughing and cooking together (while safe distancing into 2 groups of 5 with no inter mingling) turned out to be the perfect solution! Great team bonding experience, if you put aside the “inter-team rivalry banter”! Booking by our secretary with Food Playground could not have been smoother, from start to finish. Best part? They were able to customise our corporate elements into the recipes, according to our requirements! Did I also mention their meatball recipe is to die for? Consensus all round on those chicken meatballs. And, I can’t wait to recreate the thin crust pizza at home with our kids! And a warm shout out to the founder, Daniel, who dropped by towards the end of the class! By empowering more stay-at-home mums who obviously enjoy sharing their recipes and tips with us, he truly is truly an inspiring entrepreneur that deserves more local support. I hear they are offering virtual cooking classes over Zoom. Definitely worth checking out.
