Explore lovely, compact Puerto Varas on foot, the best way to take in views of Osorno Volcano and the wooden colonial homes built by German immigrants in the early 1900s. Several are designated as national monuments. Located on the shores of Lago Llanquihue, Chile's second-largest lake, the village is the low-key antidote to the Lake District metropolis of Puerto Montt and serves as a jumping off point for fly-fishing, whitewater rafting, horseback riding and sea kayaking excursions.

We took this tour last year. The guide doesn’t speak English at all, and keep repeating the same information over and over. They also don’t let you move and ask you to be next to them all the time. Amazing place but awful guide

Whole experience was great, bit of confusion with the pickup but the whole ranch and horseback riding experience was amazing, views not to be missed, highlight of my South America tour. Guides are quite quiet due to language barrier so try keep up with an English speaking guide if necessary but didn't take from the views and scenery.

Did this trip in February. To sum it up it consists of 11 hours in a minivan to visit three churches in Chiloe, none of them is interesting unless you are an academic interested in the technical details of wooden church building in the mid 19th century. However good the guides are (and our guide was excellent) this piece of Chile is not worth visiting. The drive to Castro in Chiloe island comprises a 70km motorway run to a ferry and then more than two hours driving along a scruffy, semi industrialised road with no redeeming features to Castro. On arrival the only logical question is "why bother". There are so many beautiful places in Chile I would suggest that people give this excursion a swerve and prevent the total waste of a day of their lives.

Amazing experience! Excellent team, with great equipment. The wetsuits, shoes and helmets were dry, this is very important if you think about it. They took and shared some great pictures of the whole river rafting experience and end it with some delicious sopaipillas & pebre (like scones and pico de gallo, but way better). We can't wait to go back and book another adventure with them. Thank you Ko´KayaK!

Transport safely in well maintained Subaru XV 4wd vehicle. Small group, maximum 4 hikers in a secluded part of the park. Very enthusiastic American Guide that truly enjoys hiking, explaining the geology, history, fauna, and birdlife of the area. Also able to provide many other tips on how to enjoy the rest of your time exploring Chile and Argentina. The healthy snack is very wholesome and delicious. Includes homemade muffin, fresh fruit, and a mixed nuts (almonds, goji berries, peanuts, raisins, and chilean hazelnuts). It is an exhilarating, rewarding, peaceful and scenic hike through native forests and fauna as well as a variety of volcanic terrain with incredible views of the lake and surrounding mountains and volcanoes. A hiking adventure not be missed!

The road to the top takes you through some small communities (picturesque) and then winding up the mountain with beauty all around. At the top, hiking enthusiasts can take a short, strenuous hike (about 40 minutes round trip.) No trees--just rocks and ice and a restaurant and shop and restrooms.

Very late in writing this, but my boyfriend and I went on a 5-day excursion with Colin into Park Nacional Pumalin. It was literally an incredible trip, Colin was enthusiastic, likable, and knew the park like the back of his hand and really made the trip. We had such an unforgettable time - from hiking to Lakes, swimming in waterfalls, to an amazing excursion to a honey farm, and fishing. Would highly recommend Alsur for their professionalism and expertise.
