We booked the private 5 island boat tour for a family of 4 (with young children ages 5 and 2). This was our highlight of our trip to the Split area. Marija assisted with all questions we had and helped us secure the trip that was right for us. We elected for the Jeanneau Prestige 34, as it had a closed cabin and extra space for the kids. We met Nicola and Tony at the Old Pier, and after getting on the boat, went over our itinerary and ideas for the day. We first stopped in Trogir, then headed to the Blue Cave and Green Cave, and then stopped at the Blue Lagoon and Pakleni islands for swimming. I cannot speak more highly of Nicola as our skipper, as we was knowledgeable, friendly, and amazing with the kids. We will never forget this experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone wishing to visit the sights around Split (even if you have young children).

The day trip to the capital Ljubljana was awesome. Walking around the town center made me want to stay there for at least a few more days. The weather wasn’t that brilliant, but we saw all the main sites. The architecture, climate and landscape are so different from where I was staying on the coast. It's like visiting another country.

I love a good walking tour! It's the first thing I like to do when arriving to town since it gets you oriented to the major history and then gives you ideas of stuff to see.. We packed so much into the tour. The Square, government buildings, sculpture, orthodox church and mosque - wow so cool, and lots of other little things we eyed up to go back and enjoy.. Rate this one an "A"!

9. Plitvice National park | Private trip from Ljubljana

Roundabout Travel

The unity and harmony of the 16 lakes here and their rare natural and cultural value is not only famous throughout Croatia, but also worldwide; earning this remarkable national park a coveted place on UNESCO's list of World Heritage sites. The path takes us first across Gornja Jezera (Upper Lakes),a system of 12 lakes separated by travertine barriers. Then it's time for a peaceful boat ride towards the second area called Donja Jezera (Lower Lakes), placed in a limestone canyon. Wherever you are in Pltivice it's easy to see why its travertine marble formations are such an extraordinary natural phenomenon. The barriers, sills and other forms created in these lakes, karst rivers and streams are stil an ongoing process that shapes the wonderful landscapes that make your walk through the park so enjoyable. Its these same travertine formations that have and are still creating the  numerous magnificent waterfalls here. This constant evolution makes the Plitvice Lakes never look the same.

Inclusions: Hotel pickup and drop-off, Private driver/guide, Private transportation

Exclusions: Personal expenses, Entrance fees (10 € - 40 € / person - depends on the season), Food and drinks, Gratuities

I spent the day travelling around with my guide Michelle, and she made the whole experience something I will never forget. She took me to see many different sites from Lake Bohinj to Waterfall Savica to Lake Bled. However the main stops on the way were not all there was to see, it was as much about the journey as it was the destinations. Slovenia has some incredible sites to behold and the scenary all throughout the day left me blown away. Driving through the deepest vallies and up the tallest mountains, it was a real adventure the whole way. Due to the time of year and current events, we basically had every spot to ourselves without the hussle and bussle of noisy tourist spots and the benefit of this was how peaceful everything was. Michelle is an incredibly friendly and kind person, full of knowledge and experience of Slovenia that she shares with you in an enthusastic and engaging way, she is perfect company for the trip. This is an amazing day out which I highly reccomend to anyone visiting Slovenia. I will absolutely be coming back to stay at Lake Bohinj next year for a relaxing camping holiday. Thank you Michelle for touring me around Slovenia during my stay here. It has been one of the best ( or even, the best ) experience I have had travelling over the past few years.
