We found our guide chilling by their cool modified Land Rover and the tour begun! Drive over some bumpy terrain to the glacier tongue, grabbed our safety gear and walked to the ice caves, crawled on hands and knees to another secret cave absolutely stunning to behold, included a hike on the glacier itself which is just incredible. One of the best tours i have ever done, was only four of us whereas all the other tours were filled with as many tourists as possible our was personal and our guide was truly amazing, funny, lady I can’t remember her name sadly but as a small company they will know :) I recommend to anyone, SPEND A LITTLE MORE AND RECEIVE SO MUCH MORE!

RECCOMENDED TO THE HIGHEST! When planning our Iceland trip a friend came across some images online, the images led back to Heading North. We asked if a glacial hike and ice climb over two days was possible and did they deliver?! We met the first day and visited one of 38 glacial tongues, the knowledge and experience of our guide was exemplary. We said 'wow' so much. We were given crampons, axes and helmets and hiked. We were shown some basic skills for winter conditions and all had a go at climbing the ice. On day two we met at a different glacial tongue and the formations were wildly different from the previous day. We then climbed a waterfall! Small group and a personalised experience. We saw many people coming out of buses, herded like sheep, with Heading North you receive a more bespoke experience. Such a brilliantly memorable experience.

It was absolutely the best decision to book the blue ice cave tour as normal physical fitness is totally enough to manage and still have an absolutely amazing time. We explored some ice caves and fissures in the glacier which was just breathtaking. Our tour guide let us explore everything at our own pace and there was no rush as we were only a small group. It is a unique experience that I recommend to everyone who doesn’t do ice climbing in their free time already because you won’t come across ice caves everyday. The tour is worth every euro/krona. Plus we had a great time with our guide who was happy to answer all my questions about Iceland and gave us very interesting info on everything there is to know about glaciers and Iceland ????????

I was hesitant to visit the blue lagoon as I heard from other visitors that it is full of tourists (whatever that means because they are and I also am one of them :) ) Unfortunately one of my tours was cancelled and asking some of the guides from other tours, they said I should definitely go. And I agree, going was the right decision, but I want to share some of the details so you know what to expect. It is really beautiful, no doubt but it was quite crowded (even in these times of low tourism) and as I heard this is not considered crowded to them. It did not feel like there was many people in the lagoon, but it was a completely different story in the locker area. That means, you may have to wait to be able to get in a shower before (you need to shower before entering the lagoon) and after. With the option I chose you get access to not very spacious common locker areas, where it may be hard to get dressed and pay attention to your belongings, use the toilet (there is only one in that locker area) in the other end of the room, etc. While they provide shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in the showers, there is nowhere to put your own stuff other than the floor, in case you need to use your own personal hygiene products and they only provide one towel when you are out of the lagoon so you cannot dry after the first shower and when getting out of the lagoon. If you look in the right direction, you will have a beautiful volcanic landscape but there is also some buildings around it that I did not expect to see and the general look is a bit like a big swimming pool On the other hand, yes your skin will look amazing after soaking in the lagoon and having a mask on. The staff is kind and helpful and Lava restaurant is super yummy. I had the fish of the day (Atlantic wolffish) and it was probably one of the best white fish I ever had. And always a plus, their recommendation of wine pairing was super accurate. The transportation service was effective and runs regularly, plus it is comfortable with WiFi on board. Overall, I agree "If you go to Iceland, yo go to the Blue Lagoon" Experience it for your self as it is unique.
