I had a great day with Djabil on this tour to Nyungwe National Park. He makes sure all aspects of the trip are prepared for in advance and I had a thoughtful discussion with him throughout the day. Nyungwe park is amazing in its varied wildlife and plant life and the canopy provides an incredible view of the forest below. I’d highly recommend this tour!

I took this tour as I just moved to Kigali and wanted to get an overview of the town and various neighborhoods. This tour provided just this. My guide Emmanuel was extremely helpful and patient with my endless questions about Kigali and Rwanda. He provided great information on the history of the country and city, but also was very helpful in showing me how things 'work' in Kigali - eg how to use mobile money, book a taxi, what various neighborhoods were like, etc. - eg requests beyond what the tour required. However, if you are just here as a tourist and are familiar with other African countries, you might not need a full day tour. You might do the 1/2 day instead. The restaurant we went to for lunch was fine, but a bit random...There must be places for lunch with a nice view, or something a bit more interesting...

I contacted New Horizon tours and services after seeing good reviews about their services and I was not disappointed. Emmanuel and Monica were good at responding to emails and calls and provided me with all the relevant information for my trip and were flexible. Their prices are competitive, and I appreciated that they provided me with accommodation options. The road trip to and from Kigali was with a good and comfortable car. Once I was offered my package, I was able to customise it to my desire. The highlight of my trip was the canopy walk at Nyungwe forest and when there I decided to do a 2 hour hike the hike in the forest (Umuyove trail) I experienced the rain forest in full since it started raining a little over an hour into the hike and we continued to the end. I highly recommend them.

Honorio wanted to make a hiking tour with me and 3 of my friends. He asked for some money in advance (250000RFr) which we gave him as we already knew this process from different activities before. Unfortunately he just took our money and never came to our appointement. He didn´t answer our texts and calls. He vanished and after 2 days he contacted us and told us some bizzar stories about some family matters. Be aware, that he is a liar. His website turnt out to be fake, as we went to the RDB to get our money back. Because he isn´t registered officially you wouldn´t get your money back. Afterwards we wrote an review via Facebook too , where he responsed directly that we called him bad things. He called us racists, as an excuse to make the review worthless. So beaware

We planned our own itinerary , so what was Most important for us was the guide. We interviewed quite a few former customers of different guides, and finally settled on Augustine. He got glowing recommendations from people who had been with him, and even so, he managed to exceed our expectations. He is immensely knowledgeable- not a single question we came up with, that he didn't know how to answer. He is totally honest and punctual. Whatever you agree on - is carried out to the letter. He is a great and careful driver. He is extremely friendly polite and nice. But the really impressive part is his concern for his clients wellbeing and pleasure. He takes enormous pains, with great interpersonal sensitivity, to see that you get maximum pleasure and experiences from your trip. We have been to numerous out of the way places, where we needed local guides/drivers, and have had some really good ones, but Augustine is in a league of his own.

This trail appeals to adventure travelers and is a great way to experience Rwanda. The trail can also be split up if visitors do not have the time to commit to the 5 day journey. Beyond the Gorillas Experience organized an exciting visit of the Kinunu Coffee Washing Station. We were picked up by boat well in time at our lodge in Kigufi/Gisenyi, had a pleasant trip to Kinunu and a very interesting guided tour. We got to know all steps from crop to cup, could try out harvesting the cherries, drying the beans, and finally we roasted and grinded our "own" coffee. Delicious lunch was offered in the nearby Rushel Lodge. It was not our first tour with Beyond the Gorillas Experience, and certainly not our last. Special thanks to the founder & MD Theodore who really understands his customers' wishes.
The unique of this activity is that apart from making Birding we go beyond and enjoy the storytelling

Volcanoes National Park has become synonymous with mountain gorilla tracking safaris and no visit to Rwanda would be complete without visiting these majestic primates. For those who cannot afford the gorilla permits, this tours offers two alternatives in the same park; tracking the golden monkeys or climbing Mount Bisoke which is is one of the Virunga volcanoes and boasts a wonderful crater lake at the summit. The tour also offers an opportunity to encounter the local people of Burera who take us on a canoe tour to the many islands of the Twin Lakes (Ruhondo, Burera). We also take a short walk through the hills and get to discover the history of the communities who live in that area.
Inclusions: Breakfast, Breakfast, Private transportation, Permits (Gorilla or Bisoke)
Exclusions: Hiking shoes & rain jackets, Porters
My partner and I decided to take the tour on our last day in Rwanda. We've been living in Rwanda for 3 weeks already but we never had to opportunity to explore. My partner and i were picked up at our apartment which was a plus! ( a little late but they manage to call to inform us that they were on their way).It was only me and my partner on the tour and must i say, it was lovely. We did inform that we had to be back to our apartment at 5pm and they noted that very well. Our tour was custom to our preference which was a plus. (Keep in mind, that Kigali has a curfew.) Patrick was very well educated on the history of Rwanda! We had a delicious lunch and had a great conversation with Patrick during our lunch which was great! It was not an awkward lunch. It is a very lovely tour. I recommend if want to see the major "must see" of Kigali. It was very lovely to have Patrick around as our tour guide. Patrick spoke very good english and ensure we had a great experience to take back home.
