French Dining School offers full five day intensive hands on cooking course in French and modern European cuisine in Brittany France. Learn the skills of the master-chef and enjoy producing delicious gourmet level dishes under the guidance of a Michelin trained chef. You will work with the chef to produce over thirty dishes including lunch and dinner each day (except Thursday lunch). You will learn a wide range of skills and techniques including sauce making, baking, working with meats, vegetables, fish, seafood, pairing wines, baking breads, desserts, ice creams, smoking fish, making canapés, wine tastings, table layout. All courses are in English. You will also have time to explore some of the most famous sights in France including the historic monastic fort of Le Mont St. Michel, the Bayeux tapestry at Bayeux and the extraordinary megalithic site of Carnac!

Our friends joined us to attend the Dining School at Kerrouet House for 5 days of preparing, dining and of course enjoying wine. Our first meal was prepared for us by Chef Poul and gave us a pre-view of delicious dishes we would learn to prepare during the week. We had a great group attending the classes, and although most had some experience with cooking, other more novice students were all helped along by Poul and the other classmates, The classes and tasks were not intimidating, so in the end we all felt we had learned so much about French cooking and cuisine. We also had the opportunity to tour Brittany for the first time and explored Mont-Saint-Michel, Saint Malo, Dinan and Josselin by car rental from Rennes Gare. Every village and town we passed through in our travels was so beautiful with lovely old homes, churches and flower gardens with hydrangeas of different colours. I have made a number of dishes from our recipe folder and received high praise from our diner guests who got to enjoy the food with us back home. Thanks again to Poul and Nial for a wonderful experience and we would return again to Kerrouet House in the future.

Not possible to describe. Just go and feel the spirit and the soule of the place. For me it was a dream come true and for my grandson a Castle hiding dragons. The sunrising is astonishing. It jystifyes a very good and relaxing good night sleep on the island

Very friendly and efficient reception after booking online. We were kitted out with our helmets and given a quick training session. Our young male guide (so sorry! I can’t remember your name) was excellent. He kept apologising for his English - but it was outstanding (far, far better than our fumbling French) Our group was mixed French and English speaking, so he had twice as much to do, introducing us all to the beautiful Carnac beaches, and the quaint village off the shoreline (which we would never have known was there if not for this tour). He even added a little offroading into the experience for us. Great fun, and really well priced. If you’re in the region, DO IT!

If you are coming from a cruise, you'll be dropped right in front of the square, the cinema is the rusty looking building on the right. I will be the girl with the little hulahoops on my back!

I recommend this tour not only to tourist but to everyone visiting or living in Brest. We learned so much during our tour and got to appreciate the beauty, and histoiry of this city and Bretagne. Our guide had some great tips and recommandations and was so enthusiastic you couldn't not enjoy the tour.
