Bizarium is a museum full of weird inventions. A museum of brilliant inventors and their boundless imagination, their technical ingenuity and above all immense passion. Bizarium inspires and surprises with genius, scientific and wacky inventions. Think of a flying bicycle, a walking submarine, a hair helmet, a swimming umbrella, as well as bizarre idees from geniuses like Leonardo da Vinci, Athanasius Kircher and Nikola Tesla.

To get an impression of the 16th century you definitely need to enter this wonderful restaured monument that really gives you the feeling of the past. Inside you will witness the great Dutch period at that time by the architectural structure, ornements and tapistry. It is worth visiting if you are looking for cultural heritage.

Come and get to know the unknown site of the province of Zeeland and the soul of its people in the new and magnificent maritime muZEEum in Vlissingen, Holland. The museum is housed in several buildings, dating back to the 16th and 21th century. Modern architecture has blended these buildings in a very special way. From the roof balcony with its unique 17th century watchtower you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the 'Westerschelde'. At the muZEEum you find: - The Lampsins'beautifull 17th century town house - Michiel de Ruyter's adventures - Underwater treasure from sunk East Indiamen - Fascinating maritime games - Stories about Zeeland's illustrious past - Vlissingen's turbulent history - Zeeland's maritime life, then and now.

Hi guys. This is a great place, a reptile sanctuary for I believe mainly illegal animals or badly treated animals or confiscated animals that they have saved. Animals confiscated at the airport of Amsterdam. Plenty of different species, you could spend a good few hours walking around. So I did with my grandchildren. The zoo is located in a former school. A school for catholic girls. The school was initiated in 1908 by the dean of Middelburg. The displays wind their way round this sprawling building with a truly impressive collection of rescued reptiles that either cannot be released or are staying there until they can be released. The reticulated Python one of the worlds biggest snakes was worth the entry fee alone. Other snakes both large and small, iguana’s, lizards, tortoises, spiders, scorpions and a wide range of other insects and reptiles are all there to see in large and spacious enclosures. Interesting, informative and entertaining. There is a questionnaire next to every display. My grandchildren liked it a lot. Regards Schliek.

We visited the Zeeuws Museum in August of 2019. They make excellent use of the spaces the have available. I especially love their “Attic Exhibit” where you explored huge packing crates the made me think of what the Dutch East India Company’s factors sent or brought home from the far corners of the world. The exhibit of the magnificent tapestries of the War for Independence and De Riter’s victories over the British in the Dutch-Anglo Wars of the 17th Century. These tapestries are must see when you visit the Netherlands. If you are into fabric artistry you have to visit the Zeeuws Museum in Middleburg, Zeeland, Netherlands!
