Granted, the views from the top are decent on a clear day (it was cloudy when we visited, had to wait for cloud patches to blow over to catch the views), but compared to the more famous chinese mountain ranges, the Mountains here are pretty ordinary ...
Good place to stop by if you're driving past, but not worth coming out for especially.

As I'm not an expert in Chinese culture, I couldn't enjoy totally the experience, but I recognice good things and this is one.
Beautiful island to walk and be one with nature and peace.
When I walked there, some locals were playing traditional Chinese music in a small place, and they welcomed us to listen.
Very peaceful place.

The areas of the Nanxi River we explored were beautiful. We were either very lucky to arrive at a non-tourist time or the area is lucky not to be too inundated with tourists as some other more prominant areas of China can be.
There was not a lot going on but in one area we saw a lot of camels down next to the river and I think these were available for rent. There was also an area where some 4x4 driving experiences were taking place on the river bank and in the reiver itself. There was evidence that rafting was available but all of the rafts we saw appeared to be laid-up.
If you are interested in somewhere less-travelled then this area will probably suit. We hired a driver for a full day at little cost (relatively) and he did a fantastic job of getting us around the area.

Getting to Yantou took over an hour. Once there it's hard to tell where to go. (Exit the bus stop and turn left) After I walked several minutes, a tuk-tuk driver with a map stopped and showed me where he could take me. Since it looked lovely, I went with him. The destination was Taolong Cave, which I highly recommend. It has an underground altar area and a temple up the cliff with a waterfall and a walk back through a wooded area. You can get there more easily by getting off the bus at the "beach" area. From there you can buy the transport card and get the shuttle to the cave. I had to purchase mine after already paying for two trips.
Using the transport card, you can get a van to Cangpo or on to Yantou. I really liked Cangpo, as it has old houses and temples as well as new ones. It is an ancient, living village, not just one for tourists. When I was there, there were only a few other tourists walking around. You can also walk on to Lishui, but I didn't have time for that.
Lishui in Yantou is a walkway along the river that is full of shops. It's pretty but not worth paying for if you don't have time to walk to the next village to make the fee worthwhile. The last bus back to the city is at 5:30.

It's a bit touristy, but unlike many places in China, you can mostly get away from the shops and see some beautiful scenery. We went a number of places - Waterfalls, etc, but the hike up the mountain and across the Bridges afforded some excitement and beautiful views. Not too busy, though were there on a summer weekday. Overall, really enjoyed Wenzhou and YanDangShan.

tiny village of a dozen or so wodden buildings a pretty long way from anywhere. it's a relatively pretty road to get there. reminded me somewhat of a ramshakle version of the historic Japanese post towns in Nagano prefecture. there really isn't an awful lot to see here, but on weekdays it's a quiet place in a relatively clean mountain area.

I'd been there at the end of this year along for testing a hiking road, everywhere are evergreen, good for year round visiting. Hostel is like B&B but they don't serve breakfast as a lot of Chinese restaurant are available to serve breakfast nearby. No western food availabel as this mountain located in the very centre of Chinese hilly area.
Very easy to take G Train from Beijing,Shanghai,Hangzhou here, the arrival train station is also called Yandangshan, 20minutes by local bus or cab to Chaoyangdong Parking lot where the hostel located and easy to go by shuttle bus for visiting. 2day visiting is enough if you prepare will with it. No need to hire whole day bus or car service, shuttle bus are very easy to take(you may need an English guide as there only Chinese service available)

Used to live next to Jiushan Park. It's a nice place to chill for a couple hours. There are some swimming clubs that use the pond (although I wouldn't recommend swimming here, the water is quite dirty). Definitely climb the pagoda, located at the top of the hill. There is no fee and it provides some excellent views of the city on a clear day. Also, the grass area in the center usually has many dogs playing. Finally, nearly every night there will be many seniors doing synchronized dancing which is fun to watch. I rate Jiushan as average because it is rather small, but if you are in the area, it's a good place to check out.
