We learned a lot about all of the people working to keep the White Mountains National Forest a great place to visit and, of course, the natural life healthy.

Lost River Gorge and Boulder Caves

The Lost River Gorge & Boulder Caves is an adventure that combines the beauty and mysteries of nature with the excitement of discovery! A ¾ mile boardwalk is your path through the gorge. Your journey can be as easy or as ambitious as you choose: you may remain on the boardwalk, or accept the challenge of exploring the boulder caves. Sturdy footwear and outdoor clothing are recommended and no strollers are allowed in the gorge. The journey begins with a short walk descending approximately 300 feet along the entrance trail. The first stop from the trail is a viewing platform with great views of the gorge. From there, you enter the gorge and meet your first cave, The Sun Altar.

Went there in the summertime, it was the best time ever trying to make it through the caves. Very informative plaques placed all over the different trails, leading up to a well-equipped gift shop with tasty goodies inside overall great place to bring the family except very small kids

Fadden's General Store

We enjoyed browsing in Fadden's. We found the old artifacts to be very interesting--especially the old equipment used back in the day to cook maple syrup and the antique pot belly stove. The store offers a nice selection of maple syrup and other maple syrup products such as candy, maple sugar & maple seasoning for preparing salmon, meats, etc. I couldn't resist some of the seasoning rub for myself and a friend. The lady working was very friendly, helpful and eager to answer all of our questions.. I highly recommend that visitors add this to their list of places to visit.

Cascade Park

Reviewed By BlackfootDaisy - Arlington, United States

We have family in the area for college and were able to come up from Texas for a short visit hiking in beautiful NH. Cascade Park was welcome relief after a full previous day hiking to the summit of Mt. Lafayette then back. Relaxing in the wonderful river for a couple of hours helped with some severe knee pain from the decent the day before. The whole area is beautiful with families enjoying the wonderfully cool but not cold water. Thanks Woodstock NH residents for maintaining such a beautiful park.

Kancamagus Collectables

When I was a little kid, my dad used to take me to Kancamagus Collectables all the time to see the old coins! This past summer was hard for everyone, but I felt so safe entering the store, knowing that the mask policy was reinforced and appreciated that the owner offered options for those who couldn't wear a mask for medical reasons. I love this gift shop--the prices are wicked agreeable. I'm especially fond of the New Hampshire sweatpants and wine glass I got from there. I look forward to visiting here again!

Amazing time. The attention to detail is evident throughout the entire property. Parking lot attendants are keen and attentive to their jobs to maximize efficiency. The booth staff are great, friendly and helpful. The ice castles themselves are beautiful and a sight to see ! Concession stands were great to have, by the propane fireplaces throughout to warm up. The ice slides were a hit with my child!!! The sleigh ride was really cool and added a touch of magic. Highly recommend.
