Forest with many easy hiking trails, self-guided learning stations and unique plants.
It's quite difficult to find a decent hiking trail with a little one, he's only 2.5 years old so he gets tired after a little bit of walking. We stayed in Lake George, but it's only about a 15 minutes drive up to Warrensburg, there's plenty of parking near the welcome house. We did get lost at first, but if you walk around you will find a "Nature Trail" green painted arrow, you can follow it to the map. It's a little tricky to find it at first but just keep looking for the signs! It's a magical walking trail that's a little under a mile, it took about 45 minutes since we stopped to take photos and admire the trees. It felt like I was in Jurassic Park! Totally safe, flat and very well taken care of grounds. Definitely visit with elderly and or young children!

Storage trunks and attics of local residents have yielded thousands of artifacts and photographs related to Warrensburg's history. In 2002 the museum was closed for renovation and reorganization by the Warrensburgh Historical Society and reopened in July 2009 with all new exhibits. You'll climb about 600 feet over a 3/4 mile hike but the view will be well worth your effort. It''s a demanding climb so you should be in reasonable physical condition to attempt it. It's only about 3/4 of a mile up and that much back downhill. Watch your trail markers.
