Vranjic (Italian: Vragnizza) is a town north of Split, near the mouth of Jadro River, part of the municipality of Solin. Because of its beauty it was nicknamed "Little Venice". The birthplace of Zinfandel Wine, the wine, hospitality, and vineyards all very memorable. The owner was both host and doscent and extremely knowledable......knows most of the US Zinfandel vintnors. Enjoyed both sunset and moonrise under a delighful pergola in the vineyard with spectacular views of Split and the nearby Mountains.

We stopped here after Sibenik on our way to Split. Very close by.
Interesting that this ruin is literally in someone's backyard. Definitely not a place for tourist groups. The family who lives there is nice enough to offer their bathroom for visitors to use.
There are still some structures standing, but the ruin is extensive. My kids enjoyed climbing up and down the rocks.
Definitely worth a stop.

Because it is still not exploited for tourism like other destinations. You can touch and feel how Ancient Romans lived 2000 years ago. Walk through ruins without boundaries and security yelling where not to go. Take a bus to Solin and explore the history.

We have been visiting all the Mestrovic sculptures that we can find in Croatia. We visited his atelier and his 'well of life' sculpture in Zagreb and this gallery in Split is equally amazing. You can also visit his private church with more of his sculptures in wood. His works are unique and worth seeing if at first you were not keen on sculpture.

Lots to see and do in Split. Beautiful Beaches, boat harbor. The early morning farmers market where all the locals shop for their day. There is a fish market with all of the day's catch on sale for locals. Art galleries, museums, beautiful hiking trails, something for everyone in old town Split. All within walking distance.

Learning about the Romans and Diocletian was fascinating. It was interesting to walk through the palace and see how the Romans built and constructed structures. We learned a lot about their advanced thinking and construction abilities. We had a beautiful day and would highly recommend hiring a tour guide and learning about Split and Diocletian's life.

What a fantastic place not too far from the old town and well worth the hike up the hill. We had a drink at the café which provides magnificent views looking back towards the old town.
We wandered around Marjan for a few hours on a very hot but there is plenty of shade and it is a good escape from the busy cobbled streets of Split.

There is so much to see in this area of Split's old town. During our visit, the location was buzzing with tourists taking in the sights.
The sights to see in this locale are just amazing. Whether it is the tall bell tower, the elegant facades and columns of the old buildings or the splendid arches and cloisters, it is all breath-taking.
While we were there, there were buskers and musical groups providing entertainment for the visitors.
This is certainly a great location for photography. Many photos were certainly being taken by many people during our visit.
This locale was one of the highlights of our visit to the old town. It is a "must visit" place for any tourist spending time in Split's old town!

This is a beautiful place, but very overcrowded. We went with a tour and caught up on some culture before heading down the wooden walk ways to the lakes where you can swim.
We headed into the lake away from the crowds and had a very pleasant swim pretty much on our own. Watch out for the current and the jelly fish - there were some huge ones.
Glad we didn't have to walk back up to the top, we got the boat down to the next village.
