It's the biggest and considered the main church of Vila do Conde. Its construction started at the end of the XV century (1496-1497) and ended in the begging of the XVI century (1514-1515). It's a National Monument since 1910 because of the importance of the building regarded as a late gothic and Manueline style church and its tower as a Renaissance addition. The stained-glass coloured windows date from 1909 and were made at Paris, it is an impressive and beautiful church.

The Nau Quinhentista is located just across the street in front of the museu “Alfandega Régia”, it is a replica from a Portuguese vessel from the North Atlantic career of the beginning of the 16th century, the vessel was designed by Admiral Rogério d'Oliveira and built at the Samuel & Filhos shipyards, which until 1993 were located in this same place. With a length of 27.50 meters, a width of 7.70 meters, a height of 4.75 meters, and a weight of around 300 tons. On the inside, you can see various reproductions of life on board that time, such as the crew members' quarters, places and ways of storing goods, disposal of cartographic material and instruments to aid navigation, artillery pieces, ballast, among others , in order to represent the complexity faced by navigators on their voyages on the high seas. O location not to be missed.

Calm fishing village, good for long walks, relaxing and talking with local fishers. Close to the outlet and 20-30 min from Porto center. Good restaurants and Airbnbs.

I visit this space as a guide of a group of 8 industrial Chinese who come to Portugal to visit EMAF18 - Exhibition in Exponor. They like very much shopping there. Me too, because found big numbers of clothes...

We could not go into the convent because they were doing construction on the property and the gates were locked. But, you can walk around this beauty and see it as you walk along the waterfront. It is a marvel of architecture and will be around for many years to come.
