Step back in time and experience the refined southern hospitality of this wonderful facility and incredible staff. The food is incredible, the decor you have to stare at for 10 minutes just to take it all in! It must take thousands of hours to decorate and it’s truly a southern gem. Warm happy people run this and you will make great new friends just being here. The happiness and hospitality is a good example for all of us. I have been to few places like this and I travel extensively. When in town we always go and enjoy every minute.

This tour was the best! The guide Olivia took us through the stallion barn where we saw some of the most beautiful stallions that were all top notch. Her passion for the horses was obvious as she told us about each one and about their distinct personalities. Her explanation of the breeding operation and the daily life of these stallions was so informative. The shuttle tour of the beautiful farm was also very enjoyable with Olivia and Ann providing more information about how the foals and mares are cared for. Seeing this behind the scenes operation will make watching racing much more enjoyable for me. I would recommend this tour to everyone who has any interest in thoroughbred horses.

Owners Neil and Rachel bought a beautiful 30 acre farm near Versailles, Kentucky in Woodford County in 1997 and began planting grapes, berries, apples, and peaches in 1998. They named the farm Wildside Farm because of the wild sunflowers and coneflowers that grew in abundance. In addition, the name fit because the farm was initially certified organic until they learned that a minimum of amount of pesticides was needed to keep the fruits healthy. Bluegrass Scenic Railroad and Museum

The Museum owns 5.5 miles of track, from just west of Versailles, to the bluff overlooking the Kentucky River. Young's High Bridge, also known as the Tyrone High Bridge, continues across the river to the Anderson County side. Each Saturday and Sunday between late Spring and early Fall, the train departs the station at 2 pm for a 90 minute long ride. Currently the train travels to the end of the track, at the edge of the Young's High Bridge. Passengers may disembark to view the top of the bridge and the surrounding scenery. Upon re-boarding, the train returns to the station. We have several types of Special Events throughout the year, to help garner interest in our Museum!

This was a lovely afternoon activity that I enjoyed with my brother who was visiting the area. Very reasonably priced. I booked the air conditioned first class carriage and the seats were extremely comfortable. If the weather isn't too hot, the other carriages would have been fine too. We meandered through some beautiful countryside and learned a lot of history on the way. It is really worth disembarking when the train stops, to see the old railway line and the Wild Turkey distillery in the distance - wonderful photo opportunities too. On the day we took the trip, we had some civil war soldiers riding on the train with us and watched a great reenactment of a battle. The soldiers were very entertaining and got us to sing along with them a couple of times. However, for the younger women on the train, this may have been rather uncomfortable as some of the soldiers were clearly hitting on them over and over again. It became embarrassing and the young women in the seat next to us was clearly uncomfortable as two or three of the men continually leaned over her as they passed and remarked on her clothing and the amount of skin she was showing. This is nothing to do with the Bluegrass Scenic Railroad as these civil war soldiers are volunteers but it might be a good idea to have a word with them.
