Unique flower and sculpture park with beautiful environments. The mansion was role model for Ekeby in Selma Lagerlöfs Gösta Berlings saga. Big playground for the children.
Galleri Lökboden - transformed into a charming old fashioned art gallery filled with art by local artist. So enjoyable!

Mariebergsskogen is Karlstad City Park. It was a gift to the City of Karlstad in 1896 from Dr Conrad Höök. Visit the farm animals in Lillskogen, the Play Garden and Naturum Värmland. Mariebergsskogen has good food, lovely cafées and great ice cream. And lots of space for swimming and outdoor life - very close to the city centre. Free admission, free parking, open dayily all year round.
This is a nice aria to relax. Much to see. Many animals . Also nice forest to walk inside. If it is a hot day. You can take a bath at the nearby beach.

Marbacka is a place to visit when exploring Värmland. I liked the garden that was very well maintained and beautiful. If you want to know more about the life and work of Selma Laggerlöf, you should definitely take a guided tour that takes ca 45 minutes (this is the only way to get in the house). The guided tour was very informative and good.

Rackstadmuseet is a museum dedicated to the artists who were part of the Rackstad artist colony by the beginning of the 20th century including Gustaf Fjaestad, Björn Ahlgrensson and Fritz Lindström among others. Arts and crafts has and has had an important role in the cultural landscape of Arvika and is included in the museum collections as well. Temporary exhibitions are continuously displayed, focusing on both historical and contemporary artists. During the summer months you can also visit the sculpture Christian Erikssons own studio with loads of artworks and furniture from the period. In the cafe you can allways eat homemade lunch or cakes during the museums opening hours.
What a gem this museum is! This lovely place has something for everybody. The buildings are very interesting from an architectural and engineering aspect, as the “cottage” is built like a piece of perfect furniture. But the art is the real breath taker, and also very moving. This marvellous place has something for everyone. Don’t miss it!

Karmenkynna , central Lekvattnet, has one of Värmland's finest collections of Finnish buildings. Here are 18 houses, all specific to the construction and housing culture, as in the 1600s immigrant Finns brought with them from Finland's eastern parts. Here are tools and utensils, which reveals much about these people's ways to manage and exploit nature, and their living conditions in general.

The homestead museum of Kollsberg in Torsby is located at the beautiful head of Lake Fryken. It gathers original wooden houses with traditional furnishings that once stood in the vicinity of Torsby. The museum is open summertime and by appointment. The museum café serves homebaked refreshments and the traditional meal "motti och fläsk".
