Excellent tour / education of gin distillation provided by Patrick. Very welcoming and inclusive approach for non alcoholic drinkers alike. Lovely location and enjoyed the sampling of the local produce. Highly recommend.

The appeal of this exceptional Cistercian abbey remains as enduring as ever An area of outstanding beauty complemented by this outstanding beauty in stone. If only the walls could talk! The chants of countless monks echo through the masonry here. Despite the shell of this grand structure being open to the skies, it remains the best-preserved medieval abbey in Wales. The displayed opening times are our general pattern. Please check the Cadw website for specific times and days, including closures.
Such a beautiful building with an amazing view of the countryside. Well worth a visit great pub close by so you can enjoy a drink whilst admiring the view of the Abbey.

We stumbled upon the vineyard whilst walking around Tintern Abbey - and I'm very glad we did! Upon entry, we were greeted by Colin - a chap with loads of character - who gave us advice regarding the self-guided tour of his vineyard (£2 per person - easily worth it). Returning to the shop, we were given a complimentary wine tasting, with an explanation of each, including a brief lesson in Welsh! Colin is not a pompous toff, he's very down to earth and entertaining - we laughed a lot. Tintern Parva has won many awards for its wines, which resulted in us buying 4 bottles. Great trip out. The only thing that would make this better is if there were a wine bar on the side, so we could fill ourselves on locally made wines, and roll ourselves down the hill to the hotel at the end.

Situated in the lovely village of Tintern - well known for its ancient abbey - Stella & Rose's Books has been established since 1991 and normally has around 30,000 books in stock. Since October 2018, all books previously held at Rose's Books in Hay-on-Wye are now permanently located at Tintern.

After a visit to Tintern Abbey my Husband and I enjoyed a walk around the local area and came across this wonderful little shop, we both love The Green Man and especially at this time of year as he is the symbol of nature, rebirth, representing the cycle of growth each spring and I was overwhelmed by the amount of different styles of beautiful Green Men ornaments which can be used both in the garden (lovely bird feeders) and in the home as wall art, there are other little spiritual trinkets and witchery which I loved, I could have spent hours just looking through the shop, especially the pottery dragons which are made locally, I am looking forward to going back again soon to explore this shop even more as we arrived late in the day and didn't have much time! Prices were reasonable and the lady in the shop was very happy to help, knowledgeable and friendly!

We just turned in here on the off-chance to see what was there and it turned out to be quite charming. It is the now dis-used station for Tintern built in the days when they needed to get the wire made in the district out and tourists in. There is an interesting history to the place. We had lunch mainly because there was scampi on the menu! Not a disappointment at all, plenty to eat (we were beaten by the chips), well cooked and promptly served. There is a small 'model' railway still running - not certain when, but a chap was working on the engine shed while we were there. Plenty of room for kids to run around and I think they have various special events during the summer so its worth checking. The main grassy area in front of the old station building looks easily accessible for both pushchairs and disabled users.

This is a wonderful little ruin of a church destroyed by fire in 1977. It has connections with the abbey as a previous building on site was a monk's retreat There are plenty of photo opportunities here. The graveyard is overgrown and difficult to navigate in places. There is not much left of the church so the whole experience will take less than an hour. Overall, a great place to do alongside Tintern Abbey.
