Top 10 Things to do in Tampines, Singapore

August 7, 2021 Esmeralda Fenner

The Singapore cityscape looks like it was ripped from the pages of a science fiction comic book. If you’re hungry for a true Singapore experience, sample the myriad street foods or take a cultural cooking class. The Botanic Gardens and the Gardens By the Bay offer a slice of horticultural heaven, and the observation deck of the Sands SkyPark makes you feel like you’re high above the clouds. The banks and walkways along the Singapore River bustle with local activity.

Healing Touch Spa

I have been patronising Healing Touch (tampines) for the past 4 years after my friend recommended it to me. I have always been satisfied after each visit. Their customer service is superb; pleasant, patient and polite! They greet you with smiles and are ever willing to answer any queries patiently. Importantly, they do not hound you to sign up any packages. In fact, I had to ask them about how to go about signing up. The masseuses are very different. Each one of them is good in their own way. I would recommend you to try a different masseuse each time until you find one that best suits you. However, if I had to mention 1 downside just for the sake of doing so...it is not really a very quiet place. You can hear people talking and movement sounds from the next rooms (also depends on which time of the day you're there). Not a major issue at all but if you're the sort who needs your Zen moment, this might not be for you. Overall, I love this place and would recommend it to anyone to give it a try!

If you are looking for a free indoor (or air conditioned) attraction, this can be one of them. Went there with two primary school aged children and it was both educational and interesting. What you need to do is to book the tour via their website. It is best to take a taxi (Grab or Uber) there as the walk from the main road is quite long and it can be quite hot.

Bedok Reservoir Park

Reviewed By NigelG407 - Singapore, Singapore

Today I took my nature walk from Bedok Reservoir via the Park Connector to Simpan Bedok. In all my time here I can never remember seeing as many collared kingfishers as I did today - must have been fifteen plus. I saw a variety of birds, some for the first time including: Asian koel - female Rose ringed parakeets Brown shrike Scaly-breasted munia Little egrets Plantain squirrels and lizards adorned the trees and grasslands. Fruit was in abundance - pomegranate, Chico’s, mangos, bananas, papaya and jackfruit. What a wonderfully diverse selection of nature I beheld.
