Owned by Robert Redford and known for its film festival, Sundance is uncrowded and offers top-notch skiing and atmosphere.
There's a lot going on at Sundance in the summer. Concerts, mountain biking, hiking, zip line and scenic chair lift. We really enjoyed the chair lift ($15/person). Parking is free. All the staff in the shops and adventures were super polite and friendly. Waitress in the Foundry restaurant, not so much. Nice way to spend an afternoon or couple days.

One of the sites in Utah for cave exploring.
Even though the path is paved, the hike up to the cave is challenging. Excited by opportunity to tour the three caves. Unfortunately, our tour guide was short on facts, history and anecdotes even though she said she had been giving cave tours since a teenager. Her knowledge of geology was very generalized. It was a bit of a disappointment to hike all that way only to have a mediocre tour guide. Hopefully, those of you who are reading this review will have better luck. Overall, Timpanogos Cave is worth the visit.

Winter horseback riding is an activity I had been yearning to do for many years (I have a lot of horseback centric goals, oddly).
I am so thrilled to say that when I was able to finally get this checked off my bucket list, the experience was nothing short of perfect.
First thing I always keep an eye out for when animals are involved— are they well cared for?
I can say that Rocky Mountain outfitters absolutely takes care of their horses. They are well fed, well trained, and just so affectionate! I have never had horses crowd around me just to snuggle and get kisses— it was just so sweet I could cry!
Now for the actual review of the activity:
I signed my boyfriend and myself up for the one hour trail. (Seeing as we are Los Angeles dwellers , I feared that we might not be tough enough to withstand the cold of the 2 hour ride) However, I wish I had booked us for the 2 hour option when our 1 hour was up and I didn’t want to say goodbye to my horse or the visually stunning landscape of soldier hollow. The sights were so breathtaking and our guide went just the right pace. The activity started on time and our guide was very hospitable. We were in a group of 6, but we didn’t mind. Next time I might sign us up for the private ride, though =]

Yes it is home grown. Yes it is a small theatre in the round. And YES it is better than Broadway! Yup, been to great theaters in NY, Houston, Portland, San Francisco, Austin, Moscow, Dar es Salaam, Salt Lake and Provo so as an ordinary guy I️ feel I know what I’m talking about when I️ say the Orem Hale is truly the best. We saw Hello Dolly. Best stage performance of this classic that we have seen. Amazing skills, voices, and choreography. You want the best in theatre, it’s right here in Orem.

This canyon is beautiful year round, but the fall is amazing. Late September and early October is our favorite time to make the drive, and to stop at multiple places to see the sights.

We took our two granddaughters to this zipline (ages 11 and 15) and we all had a blast! We've been on several zipline tours and this one was by far the one that gave us the most exercise and challenge. Every ziipline and bridge crossed...MoreVery glad to hear that you enjoyed it

We had a family gathering here and among our group was my mother who has difficulty walking. She has a handicap parking permit. We came on a Saturday afternoon and we could not find a single handicap parking spot that was available anywhere. All the visitor parking lots were full. I dropped my mother off as close to the campus as we could get and then I parked far away and hiked back.
BYU is enormous. It is a beautiful campus in a great location – surrounded by mountains. But they need more handicap accessible parking options.

Our hotel had a flyer with information for this trail. The trail was rated moderately easy and there was a waterfall at the end. The hike was listed as 3.5 miles, though the sign at the start of the trail states 2 miles each way. We waited until later in the day, on Labor Day, hopeful many people had headed home already and the weather had cooled off. Every one else had the same idea. There were probably 200 people on the trail in the couple of hours we were hiking.
The trail is uphill and downhill. There is an area of the trail that is quite rocky. It was not what we expected, and we assume a surprise to others. We were wearing tennis shoes and open toe sport sandals. We saw one man wearing flip flops. There were a lot of families, and they had run out of water on their return to the trail head. People were walking their dogs, and they had no water for the dogs. One man was carrying his 8 year old daughter on his back, and it was over 80 degrees.
It was difficult to keep a steady pace with so many people on the trail. The trail is very dusty and when a runner runs by there is a dust cloud in the air. We were filthy after our hike.
The scenery is beautiful, but it is hard to enjoy when there are so many people. The waterfall is very picturesque but it is difficult to get a picture with so many people standing around. I was surprised how many crazy young people were scaling the wall of the waterfall without the proper equipment.
I am sure the view is spectacular in the Fall, just make sure you go mid-week when all the BYU students are in class, and the locals are at work.

With a lovely river, rich pines and furrs, oaks and aspens, Timpanogos Cave Nat'l Monument, Tibble Fork Reservoir, Timpooneke Trail, Bear Trail, Pine Hollow Trail, Mary Ellen Gulch, and numerous other 'attractions' for the lover of outdoor beauty, this beautiful canyon has it all. But with the increased traffic flow, and the threat of Snowbird Ski Resort building in Mineral Basin, this beauty is threatened to become a highway that's hard to maneuver. Ride bikes or hike in this canyon, carpool, and do what you can to preserve this oasis before it's gone.

Enjoyed the warm swim. Can snorkle, but not at night. They also have diving. So clean and relaxing. Next day the joints felt great from the mineral water. Great after a day of skiing!
