We strive to help each and every person who walks through our doors find exactly what they've been looking for. An interest in antiques and the memories associated with finding old treasures was always a part of our lives. One day, we realized that instead of just looking for ourselves, we could share this fun hobby with others! We started finding and collecting treasures that others would love just as much as us, and the rest is history. Or, as we would say, antique! We started in 2015 on West Main Street, and recently made our way to East Main in downtown Sun Prairie!

Sun Prairie Historical Museum is a little house on a big prairie! So, realizing that we thought it was excellent! The exhibits we saw were important local facts about Georgia O'Keeffe that you can't find anywhere else (such as the letters asked for an original painting to display and the letters back refusing - she pretty much burned her bridges with the town after they got too judgmental on her worldly lifestyle!) - so there are many gorgeous posters, also artwork in honor of her, and just some amazing little snippets! For any lover of O'Keeffe's work, her hometown is a must-see stop. Another wonderful thing was the diversity project. Museum staff have been highlighting the cultures of the immigrants - both past and recent - who have made Sun Prairie their home. We were quite impressed by the Hmong Cultural exhibit this season. Also, if you like radios, there were tons of historical ones there as well. Since I'm working on a genealogy project, I was also invited into the basement, and although I haven't yet found what I am looking for, it was wonderful! And although I wasn't able to come back the next day, I found out that the cradle scythe I was looking for is actually housed in a nearby location! So yes, they do have ancient farming implements from the area. I hope they will continue to have more on the diverse cultures of Sun Prairie (the restaurants in town provide some clues!) and I also hope that someday they will be able to get an O'Keefe original. I am sure that in the Great Beyond, Georgia O'Keefe has forgiven and forgotten, and would love for the townspeople to enjoy one of her works. And I have to say, as a native of Madison, that the clouds in her big picture at the Art Institute in Chicago look a lot more like Wisconsin's skies than like New Mexico's!
