The small gallery features many local artists. And has a vary of items from cards, paintings, books, to baskets, wooden toys, and more. Plus super friendly staff. The layout is an open house, then a short walk up the path to the entry, with street parking, plus it’s family friendly.

Enjoy a beautiful stretch of Pacific Northwest forest on the Skamania Lodge property in the Columbia Gorge. We offer seven zip lines, three suspension bridges and a belay from one of our tree platforms. Our guides are awesome and will make sure you have a great time on the tour! We are located inside Skamania Lodge which is a worthy attraction itself. Tour guest weight limits are 60 to 275 lbs. Closed toe shoes required.

Museum dedicated to the preservation, conservation, and interpretation of the cultural and natural history of Skamania County and the Columbia River Gorge.
I took a antique car club touring group to the Interpretive center. We had to pry people away after about 2 hours. I love the logging equipment inside and outside, and the Columbia River Indian displays and early settler replica were great. The tree trunk outside 20 feet in diameter.

We live only 1.5 hours from Mount St.Helens and we have barely scraped the surface of the amount of hikes there are to do within the Gifford Pinchot and surrounding the mountain. We have been at least 6 or 7 times now and still have so much more to see and do. The landscape of the Lava Canyon trail is so amazing and interesting. The History of Mount St.Helens since the explosion is incredible and how the explosion changed the landscape completely. This is a short hike as long as you only plan to hike the suspension bridge and back to the parking area. There is a longer more dangerous option for hiking further into the canyon, but we did not do that. Chose to keep it safe. The trail is hiking over hardened lava along side the canyon and waterfall. it's all beautiful scenery. Then you get to the suspension bridge which has spectacular views of the Gifford Pinchot forest and looking back up the canyon to see the best view of the waterfall that you'll get whilst on the trail. There are also Islands made of Lava with trees growing out of them, It's just so different to anything I've experienced before and the suspension bridge gives it that little extra element of excitement. This is definitely a trail we will be back to do again maybe in a different season.
