St. Ives boasts a quartet of golden-sand beaches. Sheltered coves draw swimmers and sun-worshippers, but water-sports aficionados visit St. Ives for great surfing, windsurfing and water-skiing conditions. And on your way there, keep your eyes peeled for a dude with seven wives. You never know when nursery rhymes might come true.

Kidz R Us is an extraordinary youth theatre group, working with around 100 young people a year, aged seven and up. A not-for-profit arts charity, we aim to encourage the participation of young people in the performing arts and behind-the-scenes crafts, both for their own personal development and the benefit of the wider community. Production standards are high and since being formed in 1994, we have produced over 70 shows and won numerous awards. Kidz R Us was a finalist in the Best Arts Project category of the 2010 National Lottery Awards and is a recipient of the prestigious Queen's Award for Voluntary Service. Our Artistic Director, Phil Barnett, was awarded a British Empire Medal in the Queen's Birthday Honours List 2012, and we are honoured to have Sir Tim Rice as our Patron.
Well done to all the cast and crew, sister act was fab, a very professional performance. The theatre is very reasonably priced, £11 for adults and £3.50 for a glass of wine.

A favorite place for a family outing, this lovely stretch of beach overlooks Godrevy Lighthouse in the distance.
All the pictures Speak for themselves...a great big wide beach... perfect any time of year. We love it in winter as it's lovely and empty...waves are always great on this beach and there's a few decent cafes on or around the beach to take refuge in! A must to go to if you've never been!

This half-mile-long beach with firm sands is a popular recreational area around St. Ives, where all amenities are available, including beach chalets.
We stayed in an apartment that was just a few yards from this beach, but due to the very cold weather we only ventured once. Compared to our own beach at Blackpool, this is terrific. With its lovely clean sand and rugged sea, I would imagine it would be a perfect day out in summer. Where our beach is governed by the tide; if the tide is in there is very little sand.
Quite a long beach with a good distance of sand before you get to the sea, there is plenty of space to sit and relax. Few rocks for the kids to play on as well.
There is a cafe, but closed upon our visit.
Parking looks pretty limited, so best if you park at the island car park and then wander down.

We often take a leisurely walk along the coastal path from Carbis Bay to St Ives while we are on holiday in Cornwall. The walk is not too strenuous along the mainly asphalt paths although there are a few stretches where it is a bit steep. However, it is worth it for the spectacular views and if you wear comfortable shoes you should be ok.
We usually have lunch in St Ives and then depending on how energetic we feel, we can either walk back or get the train.

We only recently ‘discovered’ this lovely unspoilt beach after parking by St Uny’s Church at Lelant and walking down the coastal path (cutting through West Cornwall Golf Club), over a railway bridge and through the sand dunes. The walk took us about twenty minutes.
Porthkidney Beach is a quiet and sheltered beach with spectacular views over St Ives Bay. You can access Carbis Bay Beach at low tide by walking around Hawk’s Point. The South West Coastal Path connects both Beaches if the tide is too high. However, the river is unsuitable for swimming and the currents at this end of the beach can be very dangerous.
Porthkidney Beach is dog friendly – dogs are allowed on the beach all year round but they must be kept on a lead while they are on the footpath from St Uny’s Church.
RNLI Lifeguards are on duty at Porthkidney Beach from early July to early September.
The only downside is that there are no amenities whatsoever on this beach so you will need to take your own food and drink with you, and use the toilet before you go!

You don’t need to go abroad when you can go on Porthgwidden Beach. It is a beautifully clean beach with pure golden sands and crystal clear turquoise coloured water, sheltered and tucked away. It is an ideal place to relax and chill out with your family and friends and the café is lovely.

The views out to the Atlantic Ocean, particularly when it going dark can be spectacular. On one side of the Island there is Porthgwidden beach and on the other is Porthmeor, the surfers beach. The Island has a number of seats where we spent time relaxing and people watching. This is the place where seals and dolphins can regularly be seen.
There is a car park on the island which can get very busy or you can reach it by walking along the small coastal path near Smeatons Pier.

The Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden contains the largest group of Hepworth's works, permanently on display where she lived and worked from 1949 until 1975.
I’m writing this after discovering that it’s currently closed . We were here at St Ives last year & went to the museum and I’d hoped to go again . It’s a wonderful museum inside and out in the Gardens and also quite moving to...MoreMany thanks for you feedback and it's great to hear you enjoyed your visit. As you mentioned, we are currently closed for building maintenance, but will reopen spring 2018.

This picturesque bay, located in St Ives, offers outstanding views and a magnificent sandy beach offering many recreational activities such as swimming, boating, Surfing, rock climbing and tennis.
This is one of the most beautiful if not the most beautiful beach i have been to in the UK. On a hot summers day you could be anywhere in the world but even on a cold and wet day in February it is still stunning and worth a visit.
