The Inglenook legacy began in 1879 when Gustave Niebaum, a Finnish sea captain, wine connoisseur and entrepreneur, came to Rutherford to build a wine estate that would rival Europe's finest. When Niebaum's grandnephew, John Daniel, Jr. inherited the chateau and vineyards in the 1930s, Inglenook had already earned international acclaim. Francis and Eleanor Coppola purchased the property in 1975 and have spent forty years reuniting the original vineyards, returning winemaking operations to the chateau, and restoring Inglenook's illustrious heritage with the help of renowned wine consultant Stephane Derenoncourt and Managing Director and Winemaker Philippe Bascaules. In honor of this estate and its historical significance, we have restored the name, Inglenook.
Our future son-in-law chose this vineyard for where he proposed to our daughter. Soon after, we surprised them with a small party in a private tasting room. Staff was great and the building itself (built 1875) was fabulous. Lovely grounds and, lest I forget, fabulous wines.

Small-scale Family operated vineyard and winery producing world class wines in Napa Valley for over 30 years. The Tour & Tasting at Anderson Conn Valley is a great way to learn about our property, history and wines. We show you around the winery and vineyards before heading into the barrel cave to taste through our current releases. This is a roughly 90 minute experience. Other tasting options are available. Please enquire at time of booking.
The winery staff was very accomodating in arranging our enjoyable visit to the vineyards. Jeremy, the tasting room manager, gave our group a really wonderful tour and presentation/tasting of the Conn Valley Vineyards wines, whose excellent qualities speak for themselves. The whole group, including friends from Germany, enjoyed his enthusiasm and wealth of information, and came away with a greater appreciation and knowledge of the winery and its wines. Highly recommended!

Pride Mountain Vineyards specializes in Red Wine production, mainly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The property is only open for wine tasting appointments to adult guests with a prior appointments. In compliance of our local codes and use-permits all appointments must be made in advance of arrival. Thank you, Pride Mountain Vineyards
Finally splurged for the seated experience, and it was worth every bottle of wine we bought from it. Spent time in the cellars barrel tasting, as well as doing vertical and different blend tastings. Our wine educator was magnificent. Would highly recommend everyone buy as few bottles as possible from here, so that I can get them all.

Grgich Hills Estate is an iconic Napa Valley winery, consistently producing world-class wines. Vintner Hall of Fame inductee Miljenko "Mike" Grgich first earned world-wide recognition when the Chardonnay he crafted won the 1976 Paris Tasting, beating the best of France. Mike then partnered with Austin Hills to open their family-owned-and-operated winery in 1977. Committed to natural winegrowing and sustainability, we farm our five estate vineyards without artificial fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides, rely on wild yeast fermentation and use our passion and art to handcraft food-friendly, balanced and elegant wines.
I've loved Grgich Chardonnays for many years and always wanted to visit. The winery, the vineyards, and the tastings fulfilled my high expectations. The big surprise was how much I loved their Cabernets too! This should have been no surprise if I'd studies the history before arriving there. "Mike" won the Paris Tasting of 1976 for his Chardonnay, that beat all the paragons in France! He judges himself on the quality of his reds -- and I must concur that they, too, are world-class. Cheers!

Located 2000 feet above St. Helena, Schweiger Vineyards discovered by those in search of the authentic family winemaking experience. Enjoy incredible views overlooking Napa Valley, savor artisan style wines at this lovely Spring Mountain winery and just relax. Sip wines on the balcony, sit down to a paired tasting or tour the barrel room. Savor the signature Bordeaux-style blend “Dedication”, and the Cabernet Sauvignon along with the Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Tastings are by appointment.
Schweiger Vineyardscwas a wonderful experience. The owner actually sat down with us at one point during the tasting. He actually is an older gentleman who works his own vineyard because it is truly his love. I enjoyed all of the wines we tasted. I do not ever drink Chenin Blanc but it was amazing!! Do not miss this quaint vineyard.

Venetian Estate Winery & Caves located in St. Helena opened in 2007. Featuring imported Italian marble from Italy and chandalier from Murano adorning the tasting room and Cave. Offering our Cave Experience & Barrel Tasting daily by reservation only.
I don't normally rate wine tasting experiences which are not directly on the edge of the vinyard very high but Del Dotto is an exception.
The vineyard is filled with rich Italian influence.
Michelle is an excellent host, knowledgeable of the wines, and quick to fill up the breadsticks. Congrats on the shared wedding date on August 25th, 2018!

A visit to Sherwin Family Vineyards, at the top of Spring Mountain above St. Helena, is like no other tasting experience. You will be treated to world-class wines in an idyllic setting overlooking the Estate’s vineyards and picturesque lake and fountain. Relax on the patio and sip a glass of Estate Cabernet while you enjoy a peaceful picnic on the deck. Or, on those chilly winter days, relax in front of a blazing fire in the beautifully appointed Tasting Room while enjoying Sherwin Family’s current releases. Whatever the season, your visit to Sherwin Family Vineyards will be a memorable experience that will linger, and the memory will enhance your enjoyment of the wines that you take home with you. We would love to show you a little Spring Mountain hospitality on your next visit to Napa Valley.
The beauty of Sherwin Family vineyards is difficult to describe...it is a true Napa Valley / Spring Mountain jewel! Located above St. Helena, Spring Mountain is home to several of Napa's best (Sherwin, Keenan, Pride, etc). The drive up the mountain is beautiful, and once you arrive at the vineyard, you know that this is NOT the normal Napa Valley winery experience.
We came up for lunch this past weekend (stop in to Oakville Grocery on your way up and buy your favorite lunch foods) and sat outside on the patio overlooking the Sherwin Family pond. Lunch, wine tasting, perfect weather and exceptional people made for a wonderful afternoon. The winery is hosted by Donna and Tim, and both are experts in the wine industry. The whites we tasted (Sav Blanc & Chard) are excellent, but the reds are really special. Do not miss the Cellar Scraps...it is a real treat!
The patio is perfect for large groups along with a very nice bocce court. All of this is surrounded by tree's, flowers, views of the valley and of course, the vineyard.
Sherwin Family Vineyards is one of our FAVORITE places to visit in all of Napa Valley.

Mrs. Yank and I live in Northern California, and while we love wine-tasting (our favorite region is Amador County near Plymouth, in the foothills east of Sacramento), we hadn't actually been to a Napa Valley winery in 30+ years. Boy, have times changed...
If you can get past the idea of $40 tasting fees, then Napa is for you (and I've heard some wineries charge more). And many of the wineries require tasting reservations. So it's certainly not for the casual visitor.
Having said that, it was a very memorable experience! The cabernets and pinot noirs were outstanding, perhaps the very best I've ever had (again, not for the casual drinker, wines are in the $60-175 price range). The facilities are stunning and very modernist (the original stone winery is next door, and I understand it's used for some of the tours and/or events). Lots of polished stone, stainless steel and wood, as well as some very interesting artwork. There is a lot of outdoor seating for those good weather days. Service was excellent from a very welcoming staff.
If you're in the market for a Napa Valley wine-tasting experience, I highly recommend Hall.
2 thumbs up!
