Worth a visit summer and winter. Historic buildings, great park, different pools (including one for toddlers). If you are willing to walk up a few steps you will always be able to find a nice place even on weekends during holidays when it gets really busy. I love to swim in the mineralwater - no additives needed since the cool water is flowing in from the well. What a luxury! I keep coming back since almost 25 years, I love this place.

If you are nearby in Baden this is a great village to go to for wine and food.
There are several good wineries and some have restaurants and then there are non-winery places to eat. What is interesting is that in the off season the town has rules that each restaurant can only be open for a few weeks in a rotating manner. this gives some business to all of them.
This wine tavern/restaurant was filled with local town people and no tourists in December so it was fun to watch and listen. They specialize in local hardy home style food from the area and the food was fantastic, the dessert decanant, and we enjoyed a glass of wine from their winery. The price of the meal was very reasonable..

If history is your thing, then you are in for a treat. Abbey started about 700 years ago. take a tour or just walk around and spend some time look.WELL WORTH A VISIT AT ON COST.

Baden has done well to have such great Gardens.
The Doblhoff is a real delight.
Tree-lined paths a huge lake, Fountains, rosarium and an Orangerie means there is something for everyone.
There is also a huge kiddy play area.
A delight was seeing a mother duck with her offspring powering their way around the lake.
The lake and ponds are full of fish and quirky furniture decorations.
There is boat hire on the lake as well as a kiosk and cafe.
A great visual feast.
Don't forget to smell the roses.

This Heuriger offers great wines, a good selection of hot and cold foods and tranquil Gardens in which you can enjoy the sun and the wine. Try the 'Most' when visiting, it's full of flavour and not too sweet.
The staff are incredibly friendly and speak perfect English. They were very happy to make suggestions that helped us make the most of our visit to the wine regions around Baden.
It's worth noting this Heuriger, like several others is only open during select weeks of the year.

stopped here on a drive with friends to get a tower's view of Vienna from the Viennese forest - great panoramic views for 360 degrees, worth the stairs effort to see
