The Roman Baths is one of the finest historic sites in Northern Europe, and one of the most popular tourist attractions in the UK. Hidden beneath the present city of Bath lies the stone remains of one of the finest religious spas of the ancient world.

The Helicopter Museum in Weston-super-Mare is the largest dedicated Rotorcraft Collection in the world, with over 80 helicopters displayed inside the museum's iconic hangar! Favourites include two of the Queen’s Royal Flight helicopters, the world speed record holder G-LYNX (400 km per hour!), the Vietnam Veteran Huey and the Hind Russian Gun Ship. Explore the old airfield's restored Pilots Block where you will find the ‘Weston Aviation Exhibition’ telling the story of Weston-super-Mare’s famous aviation past. Outside on the old taxiway visitors will be wowed by the 30 foot ‘Bristol Bloodhound’ Missile - the rockets of which were made just down the road in Banwell shortly after WW2. You don’t have to be an aviation buff to enjoy the museum and there’s plenty for kids to do - interactive zone, film theatre and ‘Play Copter’ are all family favourites! Regular open cockpit days give you a chance to climb aboard, have the controls explained to you by an expert and pose for a photo!
A lovely museum who have put a fantastic one way system in place to help social distancing, if you gift aid you ticket you get a free return within the year

This is a great cycle ride or a couple of days. Pretty flat until you come off at the 31 miles that are not really for cycling and the route through some nice villages. I’ve done it a few times over the years and never get tired of it.

Housed in Taunton’s historic castle, the Museum of Somerset tells the county's fascinating story from prehistoric times to the present day. Within the 12th century castle walls you’ll find contemporary gallery spaces and great family visitor facilities, all situated within the vibrant town centre. With an amazing nine themed galleries, each with its own distinctive character, there’s something for everyone to discover. Our ‘must see’ exhibits include a 200 million year old Plesiosaur fossil (a type of marine reptile); the impressive Low Ham Roman mosaic; a stunning Bronze Age Gold Torc and the shoes worn by 7ft4 Joseph Sewell. The museum also houses The Somerset Military Museum.
This museum was light, bright and totally interesting, great art exhibition, army history, uniforms, weapons, the rebellion, local history, from Jurassic to the present, great Roman mosaic, nicely laid out, modern, good cafe with reasonably priced food, museum, is in and old castle, great place to get away from the high street shops and it’s Free !

We wanted a stop en route to our holiday destination and found this park, with mention of mini golf and play areas. We were not disappointed. There are car parks close by- less than five minutes' walk- and shops if you didn't bring your own picnic. There are beautifully maintained flower beds and lawns, a lovely little golf course (18 holes and well-kept) plus high ropes, climbing frames, lawns and trees and ducks (and gulls, of course). The whole place was immaculate; even the gates in were majestic in white, red and gold paint. It is absolutely fabulous!

"The Weston Sand Sculpture Festival is open from 4th April until the end of September. With every year a new theme we will display a new exhibition with over 30 sculptures entirely made out of sand! The competition between carvers gets greater every year as they try to win you over. The standard is high every year so use your power wisely in the competition area, because you are in control to vote. Alongside the sculptures will be photo opportunities, cinema experiences, workshops, play areas and seaside café. So see you at the Beach?"
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit, amazing sculptures, unbelievable skill of sand crafting. Well worth seeing.

These caves provided shelter for man more than 40,000 years ago.
Took our children here more than thirty years ago so lovely to revisit with our grandsons. We bought a dual ticket as we also visited Longleat and made a great saving. Main cave has audio and is very informative mainly concentrating on the geology of the caves. The second cave we visited had a wonderful atmospheric light show and the boys really loved it mainly focussing on how the hunted became the hunters as we forget that wild wolves and bears roamed Britain. Lots of lovely shops and cafes including an all year Christmas shop, cider shop and of course cheddar cheese shop with many different varieties and the chance to try before you buy. A small museum which was quiet busy. A lovely visit.

Regularly visit the beach with the dogs during winter months, they love,as they are, allowed on all of it, summer months there is a restriction on dogs on the beach, my 2 young kids love the beach even in the winter, it's always, clean, and during the summer you can cool off with a lovely ice cream, or in the winter a warm drink, from any of the cafe's along the front, well worth a visit.
