TPC Deere Run is a Championship 18 hole golf course and host to the PGA TOUR's John Deere Classic. The course is nextled atop a bluff overlooking the Rock river and the property is steeped in history, from Indian tribes, coal mine operations, and Arabian horse breeding. The golf course is playable for level of expertise based on the 5 sets of tees. The golf course is spectacular and the service is exceptional.
Wonderful experience getting to play TPC Deere Run site of the PGA Tour's John Deere Classic. Service was outstanding from the bag drop, pro shop and the starter. Course was in immaculate shape and we loved learning about the history of the area at each tee box. Course is challenging but fair and we would love to play it again. Hole #16 (signature hole) is a great design along the river. Thanks for making our visit magical!

We visited this tour mid August when it was just a few weeks from shutting down for the off season so not all areas were operational & they were cleaning up some areas. However, what we did see was great. Good to see how a harvester starts with a sheet of metal and finishes with a "fully grown machine". After a short film, we were loaded onto 'touring trailers' (for want of a better word), and toured around the factory, with headphones and safety glasses, passing through the assembly and painting areas. For ages 13 and up, I think they said, and as you are taken around on the cart, it is suitable for those unable to walk with ease. Except for the paint area where the painting is viewed from an upstairs platform. Highly recommended but I suggest visiting before August before they start shutting some parts down for the off-time. They start up again in November. There is a small shop for John Deere product purchases but a better range can be found at the Pavilion. Recommended.

No More Mr. Clean......
My buddy and I attended a concert by the Alice Cooper Group on Tuesday, May 13, 2018. The Taxslayer Center is a great venue for concerts. There really are no bad seats! The sound system is crisp snd clear, too. It has good access and a person can move quickly to the exits once sn event is finished. The restrooms are clean, too. It was a great show in a great venue!

Offering 1 & 2 Day Mississippi River Cruises. Experience the extraordinary natural beauty, wildlife and historic river towns along the upper Mississippi River. 2-Day trip features riverfront overnight accommodations in Iowa's oldest, most historic city, Dubuque, Iowa.
We had a fun, relaxing time aboard the Twilight for a 2 day cruise. I can’t say enough good things about this boat and her crew. The 2 day package included 3 meals and 2 snacks the first day, 3 meals (breakfast in the overnight hotel) and a snack on the second day. On the second day, a shuttle is provided to the attractions in Dubuque and you have plenty of time to see them before boarding before lunch. We had perfect weather and sat outside on the decks most of the time. Inclement weather would have kept us indoors, which we would not have enjoyed as thoroughly. Both afternoons, there was good musical entertainment. The food was all homemade and delicious. There is a bar on the upper deck (soda and alcohol not included in the package). We highly recommend. One caveat-if you have mobility issues, the stairs may be problematic. Bathrooms are located only on the first level, and there is seating on all 3 levels. If you can’t climb stairs, this would be difficult. Request seating on the first floor and you will be fine-just be sure to do this when you reserve.

Exploration is encouraged at this museum.
From the outside it doesn't look like much, but it was so much fun! So much to do for the little ones (we had a 3yo, 5yo, and 9yo with us), we stayed for hours and they were sad to leave. A big favorite was the combine simulator, and another was the Big-esque step piano. They even have a nice-sized outdoor play area in the back. We will definitely return in the summer when the sprinklers are on.
Great way to spend the day!

This zoo has grown & improved so much since we used to take our young children there 30 years ago. Now we take our grandchildren & they love it. It isn't a huge zoo so it isn't overwhelming for little ones. Exhibits are well done & the animals look well cared for. Our grandsons especially enjoyed the monkeys & giraffes.

An inspiring monument to eight Mexican American soldiers from one short street in Silvis who gave the last full measure of their devotion during WWII and the Korean War.
I am frequently in the neighborhood and did not think of stopping to pay my respects until reading a local history book "Hero Street, U.S.A.: The Story of Little Mexico's Fallen Soldiers" by Marc Wilson.

LeClaire, Iowa. It's a special place. A place where life on the land is intimately married to the flow of the waters. For centuries, people here have looked to the water for a sense of calm, a spirit of enjoyment and a connection to a heritage that is uniquely their own. That marriage of land and water is now embodied in a different kind of spirit. The Mississippi River Distilling Company hand craft Vodka, Gin, Whiskey, and Specialty Spirits slow and pure near the banks of the Mississippi River. Born from the finest grains, harvested just up the hill from the distillery. It’s a spirit born of land and water that draws each of us curiously back to a different era. Made for you, not for for the masses.
What a cool place! Very nice inside and excellent staff! Frankie was a great bartender. Super drinks and very friendly. Take the tour. Very neat to find out how truly local this place is.
Sampled several of their spirits. All very good. Their drink menu is expansive and everything we had was truly mixology. Very high quality.
A neat stop that sets itself apart from other local attractions. Make it a must do if you’re in town!

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, America's largest government-owned arsenal is located on a 946-acre island in the Mississippi River.
This is where my family is buried, as all have served since the Civil War. This will be my eternal resting place too someday.
My grandfather, Waldo Goetsch, was it's Superintendent. There is a beautiful Confederate Cemetary to honor the PWO's who died here in captivity. We are one Nation under God, indivisible...
