The DGT is a awesome place here in Shelby. The performers are typically top notch. Relatively unknown outside of the area artists entertain in the lounge prior to most of the events in the main theater. I have attended many concerts in the theater - each time I have enjoyed the atmosphere of the theater. It’s large enough to support the well know artists and still maintain an affordable ticket price yet at the same time keep the ‘small personal’ venue it is famous for. Top notch artists from a multitude of genres assure you can find someone you’ll enjoy listing to. My only quarrel would be that the local artists playing in the lounge aren’t really promoted much. I do wish the DGT would include the artists playing the lounge in their advertising. Still, I highly recommend the DGT. Go, you won’t regret a second of it!

The pleasantry of Earl Scrugg's niece. It had a fun interactive music table. The exhibits were well done.

We are not a big operation looking to “fill the basket”. Sure there are cheaper offers out there from other companies, our competitive edge speaks in our ratings. Exclusive private flights for a memory that will last a lifetime. Bird’s-Eye Balloon Rides (reservations required).

It is so nice to have a vibrant Farmers Market here in Shelby! The wide variety of produce, meats, bakery items, and crafts is fantastic. And, we love that there is often a food truck and a local coffee vendor onsite. Often, there is live music, kids yoga or a cooking demonstration taking place during the market hours. This all adds to the fun, sociable atmosphere of the market. This market is special; our relatives drive in from Charlotte to attend because they enjoy it so much more than the markets closer to their home. We are always impressed that the market attracts people of all ages and from all walks of life; including some pretty cute pups most Saturdays! Having the market located at the City Pavilion allows you to enjoy regardless of the weather. After the market, we like to walk to other fun spots nearby; there are several great business within easy walking distance to this market.

The park is the site of a historic Herschell-Spillman carousel.
This city park has a merry go round and a small train as well as a wonderful playground. I enjoy playing the nine hole golf course which also has a practice area and putting green. This is a beautiful place to come after work and relax!
