With its plentiful beaches, dramatic mountains, and backdrop of samba and bossa nova rhythms, it's easy to fall in love with Rio de Janeiro. Made famous in song, Ipanema Beach is still the place to stroll, sunbathe, and be seen. The largest Art Deco statue in the world, Christ the Redeemer, beckons visitors to Corcovado Mountain. Rio’s annual Carnaval celebrations are bacchanalian extravaganzas of feasting, music, dance, and costumed revelry.

Taxi driver , guide and fotografer with an deep histórical knoladg about the Rio de Janeiro city .
I was originally connected to Alexandre through a work trip to Rio counting on him for local transport. But all work and no play while in Rio would have been a real disappointment and on my last day I was able to slip out early for a great afternoon with Alexandre touring Urca and Sugar Loaf. Throughout the week and especially on my last day I quickly learned that Alexandre is a fountain of local knowledge and always looking out for his guests' interests. Efficient, fair, and very personable, Alexandre is a great chauffeur, tour guide, and even a photographer all rolled into one. Highly recommended for personal and professional trips to Rio.

Maua Square is the one of the most beuatiful and walkable public spaces in Rio de Janeiro. Is a perfect place to take photos at the sunset, sit on the grass, or simply admire the landscape. Here you also can visit great museums like Museu do Amanhã and Museu de Arte do Rio. The square is part of the Porto Maravilha, a project who revitalized Rio's downtown.

it's a wonderful place to stroll. Lots of street vendors. Many murals are to be seen. My favorite one is of the Aboriginal depicting Australia. The Guiness book World Record officially recognized this boulevard artist Eduardo Kobra... it's titled Etnias - 'Ethnicities' as the world's largest spray paint mural. 51' tall, 560 ft. wide covering the sight of an abandoned warehouse. Sometimes the mural is referred to as 'Todos somos um' - We are all one. It took him and 4 helpers 45 days to complete it. Along the boulevard runs a very modern looking street car that goes to Santos Dumont airport we were told.
