This beach, wich was located just a short walking distance from our hotel is a tiny wonderful and peaceful piece of white sand. It looks and feels like a tropical lost island with its palm trees and blue sea. it is hidden from the general public most of the times but quite easy to access. Warning: take a good repelent with you if you wish to stay till late.

This is a place to go and spend the day at the beach and you can have a meal at a fine restaurant close to the road. There is the place where the world surf champion Gabriel Medina grown up and learned to surf, he has the Institute Gabriel Medina to support the local population and evolve the surf at the region.

I spent a few days at this beach and was just taken away by the friendliness of the people there, the beauty of the place and the quaint town. It reminded me of small surfer towns on the coast in New Jersey, with summer homes a few blocks deep, neat shops and restaurants. The beach itself sported many surfers and boogie boarding was incredible. Catching a wave send you at least 50 feet in from where you started and at a good clip too. The kids loved it, so did I! There's also a banana boat that's not too expensive that takes you out to a deserted island off the coast, where you can walk around for a bit. There were quite a few people out there just hanging out. Also, when you walk to the end of the beach where the river runs into the ocean, there is a nice bridge to walk on, and in this inlet I saw several flying fish leaping out of the water in schools...it was incredible. Anyway, a great place to explore, relax and surf.
