I've lived in the EB since 1990, and love to camp. Why haven't I stayed here before? Who knows, but I'm so glad a friend set up a weekend away for some friends here. This is a top notch campground, well run, mellow, with great facilities and nice hiking trails right out your door. One blessing is that they do a great job of keeping poison oak out of the campground area - for those of us severely allergic, this means we can relax a bit. Staff is great, bathrooms clean, free hot showers, campsites nice and spread out (compared to many NorCal campgrounds).
Be aware that it is an urban camping experience. You will hear planes taking off, and BART trains, and other urban noises. But up high in the eucalyptus grove, early in the morning, you'll also hear owls and coyotes. Enjoy.

Ever dream of flying? Now you can at iFLY Indoor Skydiving in San Francisco Bay. Experience the thrill of skydiving without having to jump from a perfectly good airplane - no falling, no parachutes, just you floating on a smooth cushion of air with our professional instructor right next to you. No special skills are needed, just a sense of adventure. iFLY is safe for kids 3 and up, fun for the entire family, and perfect for birthday parties or groups. iFLY is the experience of a lifetime.
I love sending my husband and children to IFly. The instructors are amazing teaching you how to maximize the jump experience. The price is inexpensive when you purchase your jump pass through Costco. The facility also has a monthly jump pass you can purchase along with personal instruction. I am getting this for my husband to use before work.

For anyone who lives in the East Bay the Redwood Regional Park provides an amazing escape to nature. Beautiful redwoods, views, variety of vegetation and lots of opportunities for a picnic. Be mindful of racing bikes on some of the trails that allow bikes, it can be a bit much on the weekends!

This is a Castro Valley icon... Been here for-e-ver... What I like is how friendly the staff is, and the fact that the place is pretty well kept (considering it's actual age). They have some arcade games inside, but the two 18 hole courses are the fun draw for the family. They have family packages that can save you a couple bucks, as well as a discount in the evenings. Good fun...

Needed time to regain perspective on life so we drove to the Marina to look at the water and unwind. We are grateful that we live in a town that had such a beautiful park with areas for, walking, picnicking, children's play, and bike riding.

My family and I walked through Ghirardelli Square and went into check out the chocolates. As we entered, we were each given a piece of chocolate to sample. Lots of variety and different boxes of chocolates to purchase.

Shaded canyon with abundant picnicking facilities and interesting critters in cages. Not sure if there is an indoor element as we only visited the outdoor cages. Clearly active and cared for as there were a number of staff running around caring for animals even while we were there.

What a great and awesome place. Lots of public events advertised both historical and haunted. Docents are awesome and kind people as well. Great way to preserve history.
