when you in samosir island, you must visited this hill with breathtaking view or take you to the natural pool with clearly water and also the best spot watin sunset. There is some tropical flowers up the hill that you can oonly seen in the dry season. If you go by yourself with a ented motorbike, you could riding around the island but you miss every little piece.
Bukit Holbung is a hill covered by grasses, south of Pangururan town at the mainland side. In addition to its location and elevation, it is one of the best places to view geological feature of Lake Toba around Pangururan, which features rolling hills and mountains with lush grasslands and sparse trees, and green bushes found at lower elevation nearer to the lake surface. Its elevation is just nice to view the lake water without too much of reflection on the water surface. The trail is clear and straightforward, and goes through many levels of increasing altitude. A short 15 min walk is required to reach a height with magnificent view. To the north, a bay with rolling hills and Pusuk Buhit Mountain can be seen while to the south is Sihotang Valley and the surrounding rolling mountains. More serious hikers can climb all the way to the top, which takes around an hour. Nature lovers would find the view here to be grandiose and exceedingly beautiful.

This is one of famous village in the district of dairi. It is located at the edge of lake toba and has a very beautiifull view of hills the lake toba and the name is Silalahi Beach. The beach in particular is very nice where you do the swimming activities.however, you have to go silalahi beach that far from "fish farmer" that brings water polution to the water. In here there is a comfortable hotel and a restaurant that provides a steady menu for you enjoy, the price is quite affordable. Other that the condition of the road that is quite bad about 15 minutes. But all will be paid when you enjoy the beauty of the silalahi beach... Thank you

The waterfall had so much water flowing down when we were there . Was a a beautiful sight to take on, and if you do not mind the cold you can take a dip there. But there is no clean changing facilities there, so just keep that in mind.

It's on the main land near pangruan exit of the island. Once you cross the bridge from island keep on the left, directions are well marked. Went there on motorbike, roads were good small broken patches at few place. The view from tower is amazing. There is nominal entrance fee. It's must visit if you are spending some time on samosir..

After visiting the Batak Museum, we took a short ride to Tomok village to view the Tombs of the Batak Kings. We parked at a private parking space on the main road which was lined with shops and took a 10min walk. Its a walk up slope from the main road market street to get here. From the tomb designs you could appreciate the evolution of the culture up to modern age and also how the Christian faith weaved into their culture. Very interesting. He were also giving a brief demonstration of a traditional dance which we participated in and our kids had a good laugh. There is also a Batak traditional house that is set up as a museum that houses traditional clothing and tools to better appreciate the Batak culture. The whole visit was about slightly under an hour.

We visited the Simanindo museum in August 2019. The Batak traditional houses and the royal thumbs are well preserved. In the small museum, there are also interesting and well preserved weapons and music instruments. We were lucky as we could see the traditional Batak dance, i.e.: Tor-Tor dance. A must in Samosir Island!!!
