We made an unplanned trip to Saint-Germain as my son's best friends happened to be in Paris for the World Cup finals. Their father was born and raised in Saint-Germain, so we spent the day there at his parent's home, after vising Versailles in the morning. It's a lovely town outside of Paris and is the birthplace of Louis XIV! It's built on a hill with beautiful views down toward Paris. If you're looking to get out of the city and experiencing a bit of the country, this is a great destination that's easily accessible by RER (the metro that travels outside of Paris City Centre).

What an amenity to have! The park is huge and perfect for a lazy sunday stroll and a picnic! Or for your morning run... Or to bring the children to the playground... Or to read a book in the fresh air and people watch... A great place to recover from the hustle and bustle of Paris on a nice sunny day!

Nested in the beautiful Chateau de St-Germain, a very interesting museum that covers archeological findings from France from all ages. The whole family found it very interesting.

This museum is dedicated to the famous songwriter Claude Debussy. The ground floor shows temporary exhibition linked to the artist, the second floor is full of objects and souvenir which belonged to Claude Debussy and his family, and the third floor can welcome concerts with its beautiful piano.
