Conquering New York in one visit is impossible. Instead, hit the must-sees – the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art – and then explore off the beaten path with visits to The Cloisters or one of the city’s libraries. Indulge in the bohemian shops of the West Village or the fine dining of the Upper West Side. The bustling marketplace inside of Grand Central Station gives you a literal taste of the best the city has to offer.

I have a hard time finding certain spices where I live, so when I come to NYC Kalustyan's is my new go-to. I went there for the first time this week, looking for kala namak (black Himalayan salt that is more of a spice than a salt) and they had it! I also managed to pick up enough items to fill 2 shopping bags. This is also the only place I've found where I can buy fresh curry leaves, essential in southern Indian cooking. It is a labyrinth of spices, beans, grains, and teas. I fell so hard for this amazing grocery that I also bought an Indian cookbook. Love this place.

Just what I was looking for. Tremendous musicians playing great renditions of classic 70s pop songs in a cool jazz style. Dave called it “8track” music. Jared gold on Hammond B3 stoke the show for me laying down the bass on his pedals and sustaining the groove with the amazingly tight drummer.
