Mount Rishiri is one of Japan's 100 most famous mountains, and is located the furthest north. It is 1,721m in height, and thanks to its conical shape resembling Mt. Fuji, it also goes by the name Rishiri-Fuji. Starting from either Oshidomari or Kutsugata, there are two hiking trails up to the summit, both of which allow hikers to observe plenty of alpine flora on the way up.
