Absolutely stunning and provides some depth to the historic links in Rayleigh, unlike the 1960’s design retained on the high street.

I visited for the first time with my toddler granddaughter and was very impressed with the facilities available in the centre. The balls have been removed from the play area and the tables for sitting spread apart. Drinks and snacks were reasonably priced and two hour slots to use the centre. Will definitely use the centre again.

Run by the national trust and isn’t overly massive or has much to do in it, it’s mostly a walk but it’s a little hidden gem, good for an imagination walk with kids, see lots of different birds even a Mr Robin! Take a little picnic whilst spotting the different wild life. Can get muddy so be prepared and lots of steep bits, but very tranquil and chilling!
