Parco Nazionale dell'Arcipelago di La Maddalena

La Maddalena Archipelago National Park is a geomarine protected area consisting of a group of islands situated in the north-east of the coast of Gallura, in the stretch of sea between Sardinia and Corsica known as Bocche di Bonifacio. These islands – except for La Maddalena Island housing the homonymous town and characterized by a significant human presence – are entirely deserted or scattered with small human settlements, like in Caprera and Santa Maria Islands.

Capo Testa

We spent a few hours one late afternoon hiking at Capo Testa - it was a fantastic experience. The paths are broad and well-marked and the views are fabulous. The rock formations are fascinating - they make you want to be a geologist just to understand how they could have evolved. Those few hours were so much more than we had ever expected. The paths are sometimes steep but not particularly difficult.

Spiaggia La Cinta

Picturesque long stretch of beach with crystal clear shallow waters and fine sand. Large car park right next to the beach (chargeable), but can be walked in about 25 minutes from San Teodoro centre. As one end there are two nice beach bars serving drinks and light snacks at reasonable prices. The further down the beach you go the quieter it becomes if you prefer it not so busy. Lots of sun loungers available for a daily charge. Certainly one of the best beaches in the area.

Spiaggia del Pevero

The beaches are a diamond. You can spend your time at the Piccolo Pevero, smaller and more private than the Grand Pevero. On the other hand, Grande Pevero is better than Maldives and you find there all you need to enjoy one full day looking the seaside, swimming, relaxing, eating Italian food and drinking good beers and cocktails. And obviously....the sunnnnn! White sand and blue/emerald water! 100% recommended
