Totally in love with this place. So happy we got to see the horses. Guide Roberto was excellent. Great knowledge. Love how they care about the environment and work to protect nature and the wild horses. Would go back next time I visit Sardinia. Beautiful wild place.

Roberto took our group on an 8 mile hike on the Giara Plateau to see the wild horses and unique location. Roberto is super-knowledgeable about the Giara and super proud of his countryside. It was a wonderful experience and getting to spend the day with a charming person was just icing on the cake. If you want to see the plateau, we'd strongly recommend Roberto.

This defensive structure or "nuraghi," developed on the island of Sardinia during the late second-millennium BC, consisted of a series of defensive towers in the form of truncated cones and internal chambers, all built from stone.
About 70 km from Cagliari, this is the only UNESCO World Heritage monument on the island. You can only visit with a guide, since the interior is steep and has some difficulty. the visit is excellent and the place, with the explanations of the excellent guide, is a magnificent place. Do not miss it. Price: € 12 which includes two other visits in the village.

The Castle of Sanluri is the only castle of the medioeval age that remains. Inside you could visit the War museum, dedicated to the first world war and to the Risorgimento period, a collection of waxworks (XVI - XIX sec.), and forniture of different centuries starting from XVII to XIX sec.

This place is magic, and not only for kids. Or better: you feel like a child whatever age you are. It is beautifully surrounded by greenery, apparently in the middle of nowhere, but the area is really nice. Definitely a wonderful surprise especially considering that I was born and raised in Sardinia and I did not know this Parco. Go there with your kids, or with your hubby or with your friends, go there and spend a special day, no doubt that it’s worthy!
