I had the pleasure of staying in Progreso at a bed and breakfast just off of the Malecon. The people of Progreso and their new mayor have done a fantastic job of building up the area with artists displays everywhere, live music on the weekends and lots of vendors around selling food and other fun stuff! Everyone I met was friendly and the streets in this community are exceptionally clean. Great place to visit!

It is located 36 kilometers from Merida, just 200 meters from the entrance to the Port of Progreso on the road to the Port of Chicxulub. To enter you must take a boat in a tourist inn that will cross you through the mangroves. The reserve has three cenotes and two shallow water eyes ideal for younger children.
A beautiful place to visit in your way to Progreso. It is a mangrove area, with abundant vegetation and some wild animals. There are two Cenotes where you can swim.

Hay muchos restaurantes alrededor de la playa. Lugares para tomarse una michelada o pina colada. Tambien hay un Oxxo cercas por si uno quiere solo unas botanas y una cerveza de lata para tomar en la playa. Beautiful beach! More pretty than I imagined it'd be to be honest. there are a ton of little places to eat and drink around... And even an Oxxo if you just want a snack and canned beer to lounge (because you can drink on the beach!!)

Malecon is the boardwalk of Progreso, walking along the beach, lots of restaurants and crafts sellers. is a nice walk where you can take great pictures and see the port of progreso where cruises often arrive for a day.
