Many of Prescott's buildings that are listed in the National Register of Historic Places are located downtown.
Walk around the square, browse the shops, admire the old buildings. We found more places open after 5pm than we expected. Plenty of street parking. Lots of good restaurants. Not party city but enjoyable. Friendly atmosphere. Explore the side streets too.

This par 72, 18-hole championship golf course is spread through 6,800 yards of lush landscape, through pines and new housing developments.
Very nice layout and design. Greens are pretty quick and undulating. Fairly wide open, short rough make it playable for all handicaps. Bunkers need some better sand and its a little bit ragged in a few spots. Friendly staff. Price was right even though I missed using 'golf now' deal.

Recently attended Harkins in Prescott Valley to see Karen Allen’s new movie. We went to the show before Noon. This is a great time for Senior aged people. The price is always good at $5.50 per person. (Buy your Harkins gift cards at Sam’s and save 20% on the admission, then buy the loyalty cup so that all your drinks are $1.50!)
There are way fewer folks at the early shows and they are likely to be kid-free. This is a quieter and less stressful atmosphere to see a movie in.
At a recent show their computers were glitching and could not read our gift cards properly. The manager’s quick decision “pass us through”. This is their term for let them in free rather than pass the distress to the customer. We thought this to be first rate service!

Every year they add more and more lights. Nice drive through display, lots of effort to build displays by locals, fun to drive through and was longer than I expected some displays you actually drive through. The light displays are a work of art. You drive"slowly" on a one-way road to view all the light arrangements. There is sometimes quite a line of cars, waiting to drive through. A must see.

We stopped by on the way home from Prescott. We bought some lovely tomatoes and a little treat. Disappointed they were out of peach pie. Nice selection of fresh vegetables and home canned style fruits and sauces. It looked like there were some fun things for little kids to do, even when the festival was not in action.

This can be viewed from highway or walking. The granite and contrast with lake is very, very enjoyable and worth the short drive from town.

The Event Center is a bit of a drive from our house. We do like some indoor activities like a horse show and an Ice skating show that we have attended.

An educational and cultural center featuring the historical, social and natural aspects of Arizona, with emphasis on the Central Highlands... a heritage and historical site with 11 exhibit buildings (five historical), a research center for collections and conservation of artifacts, and a year 'round calendar of rotating and permanent exhibits, and related educational and cultural programs. Open 362 days a year, and presenting the area's culture from the Pleistocene Epoch (14,000 years ago) to the present.
The main museum was so interesting that we did not have the time or the stamina to view all the structures in the museum compound.

As a visitor to the area I have golfed at Stoneridge several times. I've been golfing many years and consider myself intermediate. This coursew is well kept and challenging. A cautionary note; if you hook or slice you should bring extra balls. Anything off the fairway will probably be a goner. Nice variety of holes. Many require a significant carry to reach fairways. Green roll is consistent. I found the greens to be slightly on the quicker side. Clubhouse is nice. Staff friendly. Course has not been crowded the times I golfed. On my most recent visit T-times were spaced 15 minutes apart. Maybe due to level of activity? I liked it because we were not rushed and managed a respectable pace of play. Again, if you miss the fairway take a quick look for your ball, but it's probably lost so maintain pace. I can highly recommend this course and facility.

Lynx Lake is one of the most popular recreation areas in central Arizona. Mild weather, the cool ponderosa pine forest, a serene 55-acre lake, trout fishing, boating, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, archaeological sites, and bird watching attract visitors from throughout Arizona.
We took a large and small dog to hike around this beautiful lake. The trail is a little rough in spots but good shoes and a little patience will see you through. The picnic grounds are lovely and payment is honor system.
