Museo de Arte de Ponce

Its internationally renowned collection comprises more than 5,000 works of art from various cultures, creating a unique dialogue between the Old and New Worlds.

Coming to Ponce, the last thing I expected to find was such a well curated museum. And much to my surprise, it had one of my favorite pieces - Flaming June. The museum's history is interesting and it shows how personal taste can create an amazing collection. Small space, easily accessible art. Definitely worth the time and visit. Small gift shop that doesn't take advantage of the collection. Absurdly low entry fee - which I appreciated because it allows more people to access the collection. However, I strongly encourage those who can to donate so the museum can continue to benefit future generations.

Pelican Beach

If you want to visit one of Puerto Rico's most pristine beaches, then head over to Pelicano Beach at Caja de Muertos Island in Ponce. This fantastic place has been recognized for its cleanliness and environmental care; it's no wonder it was the first ever Caribbean Beach in a Natural Reserve to be awarded the prestigious Blue Flag Award. The calm, crystalline waters and white, sandy shore of the Caribbean Sea will allow you to have a relaxing time. Although it's a small beach, it has picnic tables and gazebos for large groups to go and have fun. The name "Pelicano Beach" comes from the abundance of pelicans in the area--a reserve for these and other birds is located right next door.

Cathedral of our Lady of Guadaloupe

This elegant 17th-century cathedral rises majestically in the midst of Ponce.

Reviewed By JoeC7777 - Brookfield, United States

Lovely architecture displaying classic Spanish/Portuguese cathedral style. A beautiful, but clearly well used facility. Marvelous statuary and stained glass windows. Townspeople were just arrivng for a mass, but we were welcomed and were not made to feel like intruders. A holy place not to be missed if you’re visiting the area.
