Now open for our 18th season! Every weekend a vintage & vinyl paradise in the Catskills! We've spent all winter prepping 7 rooms of estate-fresh vintage, vinyl and oddities. Described by Country Living as "a love-at-first-sight wonderland of oddball collectibles, vintage clothing, and objects d'art," The Mystery Spot is part store, part museum, part odditorium, and a whole lot of fun! Named for Homer & Langley, the infamous Collyer Brothers, this obsessive and artistic "Shrine to Clutter" is packed to the rafters with unusual antiques, tons of estate-fresh vintage clothing, 1,000's of used records & killer vinyl, found objects, vintage breakables, mid-century lighting, OOP art books, and downright oddities such as the Creepy Doll Exhibit, Petey the Petrified Piranha, and Desdemona, the Devil Girl of Phoenicia, Heck, even when we're closed, you're welcome to dig through our $1. record bins and Yard Sale in a Box on the front porch and use our honor money drop for 3AM crate-digging.

We loved the campground! Check in was easy and the lady who helped us was great. Quiet, woodsy and far from town (5 miles)! The facilities were clean and close by. Just what we wanted for a peaceful weekend, no cell service FYI which was perfect for us. We will definitely be back.

One of summer's best rituals, the trip to the Town Tinker. Do wear shoes that tie or strap securely to your feet - closed toe recommended. There are LARGE rocks and small boulders in the river, and you wouldn't like to bang your toes... Leave sunglasses in your car. Don't bring and expensive phone. Helmets aren't a bad idea if the river is really running. The water is always COLD, and refreshing, and the views of the Catskills from this perspective never cease to amaze me. Go for it and have fun.
I’m Doug and love the Catskills and the sport of fly fishing. I’m also the co-owner of Catskill Outfitters in Phoenicia. We offer guided fly fishing experiences on the Esopus Creek, Beaverkill River, and the East & West Branches of the Delaware. If you are experienced or just looking to learn, we can create an outing that will keep you coming back to enjoy our beautiful waters.
