Golden palaces, floating markets, majestic porcelain-laid spires…you've never seen a capital city quite like Bangkok. Visit Pratunam or Siam Square for premium shopping, then unwind in the European-style gardens of Dusit. Thon Buri is home to the awesome Wat Arun temple, and over in Phra Nakhon, you’ll find the Wat Pho temple of the Reclining Buddha. Savor mango sticky rice at a food stall before taking in the gilded splendor of the Grand Palace.

Mimi showed us a wonderful time and one of our fondest memories from not only Bangkok, but from all of Southeast Asia! From the food selection process at the local Bangkae farmer’s market to learning about proper prep times and finishing touches, we were able to fully immerse in the Thai cooking process in a lovely and cozy setting. We would highly recommend this to anyone looking to get a true and honest taste of Bangkok’s Kitchen style!

We were lucky this trip to see the Puppet Show, after missing it last time two years ago. This time we had our granddaughter with us. The puppets came to magical life through the skill of the puppeteers. The puppeteers are dressed in black and masked, so that the puppets' personalities dominate. At the end of the performance the puppets engaged with the audience. Our granddaughter received a lovely hug from one of them. A special experience. Incredibly, there is no charge for the puppet show, especially since the training and skill is high. You get to witness a Thai cultural performance at no charge! I think The Artist's House is an marvellous place, it's like being in the country but right in the middle of a huge city. It's a quiet, cool spot in the middle of Bangkok and it's delightful to sit there on the coffee shop verandah, on the klong, and watch the boat traffic pass by and to see all the houses on stilts with their gardens and decor, so colourful and creative. Upstairs is the art for viewing or buying. I think we took about a million photos here.
