We had a great time at Hugli’s! The kids loved seeing the animals and had a ball in the play area - we spent a good part of the afternoon - there’s a lot to do besides pick berries. The gift shop is great, lots of gems, of course ice cream too. Between the staff and safety protocols, (thanks Covid) we felt very safe and are planning on returning!

Take a trip back in time as you stroll through our museum and pioneer village. With one of the largest collections of Ottawa Valley artifacts, the Champlain Trail Museum is truly a must-see! In the main gallery or Founders Hall, discover a replica of Samuel de Champlain’s astrolabe and explore Pembroke at the turn of the century as you wander through a Victorian home and take a peek into an early doctor’s office. Stroll past Pembroke’s first motorized fire engine (1923), a re-creation of Lemke’s general store and a 1930's barber shop and beauty parlour. Discover the story of the timber industry in the Upper Ottawa Valley as you view an authentic Cockburn pointer boat and learn about the life of a log driver. Pass by a large steam engine that once powered a lumber mill in Pembroke. View special historical theme exhibits in the main gallery as well! Outside in our pioneer village, tour the former SS#1 Lowertown Schoolhouse, pioneer home, church and other historic outbuildings.
Enjoy going there to see the local history. Went there for the Halloween event with our kids and it was a great experience. Very good to see the History of Pembroke and the Valley.

Pembroke is a nice small city, mostly passed through on the way to Ottawa, however, as I spent five months on a work contract in Chalk River, I can say that for me was an oasis of entertainment and shopping, closer than the Capital. And I did go back for a quick visit, just to enjoy a quiet summer morning, a stroll and a great coffee. Even though the fun options are limited to a modest mall and a four-cinemas theatre, the downtown area is charming, with beautiful murals illustrating the history of the place. I do recommend stopping by to visit the cute German delicacies stores and bakeries and walk the streets to see these colourful paintings decorating the old houses. They are part of a proud heritage and bring personality to this town

Sitting by the water, watching the sunset or taking the dog for a walk along the long walking path is great for the soul. Just beautiful there, and has so many spots for gorgeous photos!

Had no idea to what to expect as I was visiting from out of town. Spent a very relaxing 3/12 hours at this spa. Lisa was a pro...chatted when I initiated conversation and allowed me silence while I dozed! I had the works...1/2 hour massage, facial, eyebrow wax, pedicure and manicure for a very reasonable fee, all executed by Lisa.
